The Hotel is located in a great location - in the center, but closer to the Water tower. So not in the busier/dirtier part of the center.
The Hotel is a bit old with outdated interior design, but it works.

I've spent quite a lot of time in Mannheim as I come there for work for a couple of weeks at a time.
As a destination, I wouldn't recommend it - nothing special.
There are some nice things to see and do, but I wouldn't plan a trip to Mannheim just for Mannheim.
The best part about Mannheim is that you can go pretty much anywhere from there via train.
Even Paris is only a 3 hour ride away.
So, I would recommend staying in Mannheim if you make plans to see other places around.
A day or to for Mannheim itself will be enough.

The city doesnt look like other German cities.
The city doesnt look like other German cities. Centre of Mannheim is entirely different experience it looks like an American city with its square street patterns. The public transport is working ok, you can get, where you need to be.

Mannheim is overshadowed in the tourist world by Heidelberg,...
Mannheim is overshadowed in the tourist world by Heidelberg, which is a local transit ride away. Nevertheless, it has its own attractions, and I'd recommend giving it a few days. Very easy to get to by train from Frankfurt, which was partly why we chose it. We were there three full days (plus arrival/departure days), and greatly enjoyed ourselves. It's very walkable, though there is excellent transit if you need to use it (we didn't).
The Reiss-Engelhorn Museen are of absolutely excellent quality for a city museum complex. They had a lovely exhibition of Art Nouveau glass while we were there, and their archeological display on Mannheim is very good indeed!
The Kunsthalle has art from the Impressionists to the 21st C. That includes a lot of art movements that I normally ignore in any other gallery, but we found it unexpectedly interesting. Having had to pay to see it, we were determined to take our time, and it was rewarding. What they have is well curated. By the way, anyone who has ever read Lovecraft must see 'Mootherr' by Laure Prouvost! Very creepy! :-)
Lots of good restaurants to eat in! We enjoy German food, and were not disappointed. Recommendations given for the Alter Simpl, Kürfurst, Schwarzer Adler and Keller were all solid. Plenty of other places to eat, as well, including a largish Turkish quarter, as well as the inevitable Italian and doner-kebab places.
It's a fun city to walk around in. Interesting and varied architecture, and small enough to cover much of the main grid in a few days. There are some spectacular murals on the buildings, and you can get a guide to the better-known ones.

I and my daughter fell in love : so wonderful hotel!
Comfortable, cozy, modern.
And special thing – coffee machine. It's one love!
I'll visit Leonardo Hotel next time.
And I'll recommend this hotel to my friend as the best in Mannheim.
The reception was so attentive, professional. I appreciate this.
I stayed at the Tante Alma in Cologne and after finding out the same chain was available for a trip to Mannheim I immediately booked there. And I am so glad I did! The reputation of this hotel preceded it. I love everything about this hotel chain, and this from a frequent traveler.
Great value for money, spacious room, comfortable bathroom. Perfect location for passing by Mannheim. Cheap supermarket just in front of the hotel. Free coffee available. A special note for the super kind manager who was very welcoming :)
The location couldn’t be better, as the hotel is in the heart of city, in the “ Quadraten” where the shops are and many restaurants and cafes, of course also pubs and the Wasserturm is only 5 min on foot.
