We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly man who showed us to our rooms and explained the facilities in and around the hotel. Our rooms were great and nicely decorated. We paid a little extra to have them with a balcony overlooking the mountains. Highly recommended. There was a tea/coffee maker in the room, as well as fabulous slippers, bath ropes and plenty of towels. Nice toiletries.
The swimming pool and spa are small but lovely, with plenty of sunbeds inside and out.
We were lucky with the weather and were able to have breakfast outside. There is a nice buffet with lots of choice.
Free spacious parking.

Top location to visit Eibsee and Zugspitze, we could leave the car there after check out and take a bus to Eibsee. The bus stop is just around the corner and the hotel provided us with free bus tickets for the first day and the day of check out. The view from the hotel is also spectacular, for the price in the area you can't ask for more.

We had an awesome stay and would come back without hesitation! The hosts are super friendly and helpful, and you still have a lot of privacy. The room was very modern and spotlessly clean (cleanest I've ever experienced). Room had everything you need, very well equipped kitchen including fridge, coffee and basic condiments that helped to prepare a meal. The view from the balcony was wonderful with direct view of the Alpspitze and occasional cows passing by. The tourist card we received included free public transportation by bus in the region which was essential for our stay. The bus stops directly in front of the house and comes once per hour.

The staff at the hotel were great.
The staff at the hotel were great. Special thanks to Agga and the Moroccan chef in the restaurant. They both made things easier for our family with allergies.
The hotel does need to identify food where there are possible contamination issues like identifying Milk or Gluten in our case. There was no signage to indicate, we were left to ask and trust both the above.
Restaurant and reception staff were good.
The area is beautiful and unfortunate for us that it rained everyday. I would personally recommend this area as a winter resort. But there were plenty of hikers and bike riders around. many places to visit for the scenery too.

Grainau, a charming Bavarian village nestled in the heart of the Alps, stole my heart from the moment I arrived. With its snow-capped peaks, lush forests, and crystal-clear lakes, this place is a hiker’s paradise. Let me take you through the highlights of my trip! My favorite; Eibsee Hiuke--Eibsee is a glacial lake surrounded by emerald forests and framed by the majestic Zugspitze. easy loop trail takes you around the entire lake. The crystal-clear waters reflect the surrounding peaks, creating a picture-perfect scene. I stopped at various viewpoints to soak in the beauty. Zugspitze Summit Trail: The crown jewel of Grainau! I embarked on the challenging ascent to the Zugspitze summit, Germany’s highest peak. The panoramic views from the top were awe-inspiring. Don’t miss the Höllentalanger Hut along the way. Don’t leave Grainau without trying käsespätzle (cheesy noodles), schnitzel, and a refreshing weißbier (wheat beer). The Gasthof Fraundorfer served up authentic Bavarian dishes in a rustic setting. Grainau left an indelible mark on my soul. Whether you’re an experienced mountaineer or a casual nature lover, this Alpine gem has something for everyone. Pack your hiking boots, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and let Grainau work its magic!

Grainau is a short drive from more commercial Garmisch, but connected by a bus system that is free to anyone using the Zugpitze Guest-Card, (which your host/hotel should provide you). If you're hoping to stay a little farther from the center of the action, this is the perfect place, but it does have less options for dining over the weekend, so you may need to head back to Garmisch for meals.

My wife and I were travelling for past 30 years throughout the world, and House Florian is one of the best accommodations we had ever had.
The rooms are large, well equipped, spotlessly clean. I always pay attention to engineering details and quality of finishes, and House Florian is a fine example of German quality and precision.
The host, Carmen, I may be poor in my expressions – she is just amazing, to say the least…
Always smiley, kind, and helpful.
Highly recommended place for visitors looking for peace, and skying in and around Garmisch-Partenkirchen – most notably the Zugspitze.

We are very familiar with the area.
We are very familiar with the area. It is an excellent location. Not far from the Eibsee and of course the Zugspitz. There are some excellent eating places in Grainau. We will come back again. We recommend a walk around the Baadersee which is nearby.
Very convenient hotel in a lovely town in a very attractive area. The owner was very helpful and provided discounted offer for local tourist facilities. We should have stayed two nights to allow us to visit the Zugspitze by lift. A good choice of restaurants as the hotel facilities seemed to be closed for the summer season. A pleasant experience
Breakfast- Lots of variety that met the needs of my party with several dietary requirements. Food was fresh and plentiful.
Staff- very helpful and friendly.
Rooms- clean, comfortable with beautiful views.
Hotel- great location with easy access via bus or train to numerous nearby attractions
This is a beautiful hotel and it’s well worth getting the south facing rooms with a view of the Zugspitz - the views are spectacular. The meals were lovely and breakfast on the terrace was especially memorable.
The view on the mountains is breathtaking, also it was nice to have breakfast in the garden. We didn't had time to spend on the pool but it looked nice. We rented bikes from the hotel to see the neighbourhood.
