It is one of more modern style spas (100 years old only) in the Czechia and easy to access by train from Prague. Great for cycling, because it is mostly flat land and routes available along the rivers. There also historical landmarks from the time before the spa. Nice park and 8 freely available mineral springs (April-October). You can take a boat ride as a full trip or only one-way (to Nymburk and get back by train or to the merge of rivers Elbe and Cidlina). It is good for small children too, there are some fine playgrounds, but only two are near the historical part, rest is in the north of the town (across the railway). Other interesting spots for a trip (by a car) are available from here (for example Kutná Hora).

The location within the castle walls is lovely and convenient to a variety of restaurants. We walked along the river and enjoyed drinks as the sun set. Our room was stylishly decorated, comfortable, and spotless. Breakfast was especially nice and we greatly appreciated that the staff helped us to meet our dietary needs :) Zamecky Pension and Podebrady are charming!
