The hosts were friendly and helpful! Pablo speaks excellent English and helped us navigate our travel route during heavy rains throughout the country. The location is far enough away from the main tourist strip to make us feel like we were living locally, yet close enough that it was a short (5 minutes) drive to any restaurant or grocery store, and 30 minutes or less to any attraction. AND there are so many attractions in the La Fortuna area! Arenal is not visible from the home, but we could walk 2 minutes to a vantage point, and driving in and out of the access road, day or night, we had fabulous views. The home is large and spacious with a large refrigerator and cooktop, blender and coffee maker. And the washing machine was wonderful to have, with plenty of drying space on the outside lines.

Our room has direct view of the volcano (even though we couldn’t see much due to the rain). The new hot springs were nice and better for privacy. The staff were so nice, and there were plenty of vegan options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
