Jumeirah Guangzhou, hotel in Guangzhou

Designed by KCA, Jumeirah Guangzhou is located in the heart of the Central Business District, offering a modern yet elegant accommodation located steps away from the Financial Centre and GT Land...

The Jumeirah Hotel was impeccable. But the quality of a hotel is not only about the interiors, amenities, services. I think that the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff are very important. My main wonderful memories of staying at the hotel are connected with the help of the concierge Hans. We simply asked him to order a taxi to the airport. He found out that our flight was cancelled. Thus, we could not fly to Shanghai and did not have time for our flight to Madrid. For almost an hour he was in touch with the airport, the airline and rebooked all our tickets. In the end, we accidentally found out that his working hours had long ended, but until he helped us, he did not leave. We are very grateful to him! And we have wonderful memories of the Jumeirah Hotel.

FAQs about hotels in Guangzhou

The City That Has It All

Historically known as Canton and China’s third largest city, Guangzhou is the birthplace of the most popular type of Chinese cuisine with iconic wonton soup and dim-sum. It boasts an impressive skyline, some of the oldest temples in the country and crowded markets with everything from tea to hi-tech electronics.

The busy city centre mesmerises with its futuristic architecture and beautifully lit skyscrapers but just a short trip away you can find yourself in the quiet haven of Nansha Wetland, a bird sanctuary. Rejuvenated with new energy you can then admire the traditional Cantonese architecture of Xiguan Residence, once occupied by the upper class.

One of the city’s most popular attractions, the Liurong Temple is an absolute must-see, dating back to the 6th century and featuring a 17-storey high pagoda. Make sure you don’t miss traditional buildings near Yide Road as they’re slowly being removed from the map due to the city’s rapid growth.

From a 1000-year-old lake garden, to plenty of theme parks, relaxing rolling hills and mountains, Guangzhou seems to indeed have it all! Add impressive street markets and shopping centres and you’re up for a fascinating ride.

Guangzhou Airport is a convenient metro or taxi ride away and Booking.com provides over 390 different accommodation options for you to choose from.

Guangzhou was a lovely city with a number of attractions including the zoo, Chimealong safari park, Canton tower, shopping malls and lots more. The metro system around Guangzhou is cheap and easy to use once you get the hang of it. The food in Gaungzhou is great, lots of cheap restaurants around with some really tasty local cuisine. And, although the language barrier can be a bit difficult at times, most of the time it was fun trying to communicate especially in restaurants and shopping malls. Guangzhou was our first visit to China but we will definitely be back to China in the future.

I looked forward to travelling to China, having last been there in 2016. I hoped to mix work and play by going on tours around the cities I visited. I was a bit disappointed by the dearth of English-speaking staff in hotels and even at airports. With China now leading in many aspects in the world, investing in a few English-speaking guides in strategic places would help. Or is the plan for all of us to learn Chinese? Fellow travellers, have your translation app ready on your phones next to your passport when you land. Immigration and (some) airline staff are an exception, though. They speak rather good English.

    Good food a plenty.

Good food a plenty. Beijing Lu pedestrian walk is good to shop, eat and learn some history. Visited their zoo and spent long time admiring their giant panda Xing Yi and Ya Yi with admission ticket at RMB20 only. Rainy season and hamper some travel plans. Road to Fashion Tienhe was terribly jammed due to 6.1 and rain. Fashion Tienhe was huge, funny but packed with people! Best mode of transport is metro lines, or hire a DiDi if you travel in a group of 4 (which could be cheaper per pax compared to taking the metro line).

Guangzhou was my city for 14 years, and it still feels like home to me. Returning is always a pleasure, so I might be a bit biased when writing a review. However, Guangzhou is a city that truly deserves a visit, whether for tourism or business, which is often the main reason people go there. Its rich culture, vibrant food scene, and dynamic business environment make it an excellent destination for any traveler.

Good place to shop and eat if you know where to find.

Good place to shop and eat if you know where to find. This is my first trip after COVID and i realised people are not as friendly as before, consumer goods prices are no longer cheap. Food is still good and affordable.

The service received from the staff at the Four Seasons Guangzhou was impeccable. I cannot fault them at all. They were so so helpful before arriving to the hotel, whilst we stayed there and even after our departure. Nothing was too hard and they were so helpful in assisting us with getting to and from Canton Fair (the primary purpose for our visit). The room was spacious for two and a comfortable desk and lounge and wardrobe. The bathroom was also very modern and spacious.

Clean tidy room. Great breakfast spread from "Western" to "Asian" foods on offer. Good Chinese restaurant on site and also a Japanese although I did not try that one but heard good reports. There were other restaurants' around. 200 metres from the Metro. On a direct Metro line from the Airport which is handy when loaded up with bags. Good communications from the hotel in advance when I had a couple of queries.

Excellent value for money near-airport hotel. Very cheap. Adequate sized room. Nice bed and shower facilities. Very helpful staff. And a shuttle service to the airport every 30 minutes, including through the night. They also pick you up from the airport. Highly recommend.

It was cheap and good location for various factory visits during my trip. Close to Panyu square subway station. There's a 7/11 next door to buy drinks/snacks, decent hotel restaurants but all close at 8:30-9pm. Staff were nice and decent English/ability to translate.

Perfect location, with good breakfast, which is very rare in China even for premium chain hotels, a swimming pool, good gym, The mall is located in the same building, and there are plenty of very delicious restaurants.
