The location is amazing, right opposite the train station which is great when it’s been snowing & you have luggage. My view from the room window was great.
I was in a single room & it was bigger than I thought, it felt spacious for its size.
The kitchen is a great addition as eating out is expensive.
The shared toilet & shower were not used by as many people as I thought.

This place is pretty amazing and if you are a beginner skier and want to spend a few days learning/practising then allow 5 days.
If you are on a budget then buy food from the CoOp and make your own as food from Cafes Pubs & Restaurants is quite expensive. The train tickets are good value and the journey to Zermatt is spectacular. If you are a beginner Skier you take the Finiculi to Sunnegga 23 CHF Adults and half for children and the Wolly area for beginners is well set up and you only need to watch the instructors that other have employed to work it out.

A beautiful ski town, easy to find our way around with very friendly people working in the shops and restaurants that we went to.
We only had four days in Zermatt, I think with good conditions it would have been great to have stayed for another 2 days so that we could stretch out the ski days.

This is a wonderful place to spend a week in Switzerland especially right before Christmas. Be careful walking in the streets there are bikes, scooters, and electric cars which are quiet so you have to watch out. Lots of gorgeous restaurants. Hotels nightlife skiing stay a week you’ll be happy you did that.

Beautiful quiet town.
Beautiful quiet town. Has enough tourist traps for you to spend money on, which I did not do. There are cog-wheel trains as well as cable cars to take you up the mountain to get good views of Matterhorn and other peaks. I decided to take a short hike up the mountain towards Senegga and enjoyed some amazing views and ran into some locals for a great chat along the way. The town itself is so small that you can walk from one end to the other in half hour. Great restaurants. I had dinner one night at Brown Cow pub which had locals as well as tourists. Good vibe and staff and food.

Zermatt is a destination location, so expect people to come in droves to see the Matterhorn. If you stay in town, it seems relatively quieter at night and in the morning. While there are a number of "attractions" that you can take a train, funicular or tram to, Zermatt has some great hiking trials accessible from the village. All in all, it is a beautiful place and the Matterhorn is a striking site to behold.

Nomad was the best decision my wife and I made for our honeymoon across Switzerland! We’ve had such a great and refreshing time there. Amazing view from the room, convenient transfer from the train station, great hospitality from the team… We had some delays getting into Zermatt due to the flash flood, but the team was very helpful in giving updates and support via WhatsApp to make sure we could make it there safely and timely. 10/10 would return
It is the best hotel experience we had in Switzerland, we have our own view to Matterhorn mountain from the balcony and there is a sauna in basement level which ease our tiredness from hiking around the area.
Also, the hotel breakfast is so rich, wide variety of cheeses, hams and fresh made juicy.
Highly recommended to spend a couple nights here when you in Zermatt
Hotel Alex is a wonderful hotel. The bar and lounge has to be one of the best bars I’ve been in, great staff, full of uniqueness and character, understated luxury with bags of personality. There is a real authenticity and sense of provenance and I hope I have the opportunity to return
