Porrentruy is a small history city in a far-flung corner of Switzerland which has put a lot of resources in renovation and upgrading over the last 20 years. And they are still at it. Just recently, the main street was repaved with cobblestones. There are a castle, loads of beautiful historic buildings in the centre and extravagant turn-of-the century villas in the closer outskirts of town. Porrentruy has become a very loveable small town in Switzerland. with an unusual number of bars and restaurants, some of which are surprisingly lively for such a small town. Porrentruy makes for a great base to explore the Jura region!

We had nice view of the castle, which is beautifully lit up at night. The friendly owner who we met in person, was very informative in relation to information about the area. Porrentruy is a lovely place to visit, especially the old part.

I arrived earlier than expected due to heavy rain on my motorbike, the lady owner came in early to let me in because she didn't want me to be waiting in the rain.
