Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.
We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

Vancouver is a great city with amazing attractions and beautiful scenery. However, the city authorities really need to help the high numbers of vulnerable people who are addicted to various substances.

This place was absolutely disgusting 🤢!
This place was absolutely disgusting 🤢! It was horrendously dirty! Have numerous pictures. Owner refused refund. Booking.com was not helpful at all & deleted almost all my communication. Also refused refund. No way tot get assistance from Booking to find alternate accommodation. Travelling with disabled children. Totally unacceptable in every way!

Traditional downtown Vancouver hotels are now unaffordable for families during the tourist season.. Try to visit shoulder season as there is so much to see and do. A rental car might help. There is a hop on hop off water taxi Granville Island False Creek Ferry that has an extensive route and gets you around to major sights for only $20 per day..

Vancouver has a really relaxed vibe to it, even though it a bustling city. The streets are wide, the pavements (sidewalks) are plenty wide enough for people to walk along without feeling hemmed in.
The city-scape is phenomenal. So many interesting buildings to see. Lots of glass and metal but also plenty of older, stone and brick-built structures.
There are so many waterfronts to walk along. All of them interesting in their own way. Lots of great restaurants and bars and people are just so friendly.
I just love the little water taxis plying their trade and carrying people along the rivers and inlets efficiently and always with a friendly demeanour.
And then there are the views of the mountains. Wow!
Vancouver is certainly in my top 5 favourite cities in the world.

Driving around is difficult for a first time person in Canada. Side streets are difficult to read and a lot of one way only. Signs are small, but main roads signs are well noticeable. Be aware of stop signs with traffic lights. Confusing, not sure what to do except notice when cross traffic stops. Many one way only. Very expensive. Watch the exchange rate. The fees at shops to use card can be very high to convert your money. People are very friendly and helpful. The streets are clean.

clean city, very historic, easy to walk to many of the sights that were free, great food, hop off hop on bus to other areas of the city! Beautiful destination! People are helpful and friendly. We had a great time!
The property was well located in Downtown Vancouver, just a 5 minute, easy stroll downhill to the harbour. The hotel is clean and has excellent amenities. The staff is superb including Front Desk, Room Maids, concierge and valet parking and door people. The indoor pool is good and the host tub excellent. Nice touches include bath robes and slippers in the room and an evening bed turn-down service. Would definitely stay here again.
Maybe a little pricey for what it is (although it is Vancouver after all) but if you’re looking for a “cheaper” place to stay that is pretty well located, this is really good. Walking distance from waterfront and aquataxi, small but cute rooms and fun rooftop patio area. Also right beside a little pho restaurant that had the best spring rolls I’ve ever had
This was a perfect hotel for anyone doing the Vancouver Marathon - nice and quiet for getting a good pre-race sleep and only about 4 blocks from the Vancouver City Centre Skytrain station to get to the 41st and Oak marathon startline. About $100 less than the cheapest downtown hotel, yet a private room at Samsun feels the same as a hotel.
Upscale area, probably the best street in Vancouver (which has a lot of sketchy streets/ homeless/ drug abusers in full view.) Hotel could do with a bit of a makeover as it is upscale but a bit old fashioned in decor. But no real complaints, we liked it a lot.Nice toiletries.
