I loved sight-seeing and having someone to share the history of Halifax and the municipalities around it. There was so much to see and experience that the 4 days I was there wasn't close to being enough time. I did manage to see Peggy's Cove, the marine museum, the art gallery and experience the canon going off at the Citadel. I went in the winter and the boardwalk had some fun things to experience and it was all family friendly.
There's this place called Brawta's, a Jamaican spot, and I had to eat there twice. It was super authentic and the food was delicious and owner/workers were so nice and friendly. Definitely recommend to go there.
Outside of having friends there to drive me around, they had buses running constantly so that was a great option for doing things nearby.

We love Halifax.
We love Halifax. It is a friendly city, and easy to get around. We love the Harbour Hopper, the boardwalk, the Art Gallery of NS, the Public Gardens, The Dairy Bar, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, seafood chowder at The Esquire in Bedford, lobster rolls at Dave’s Lobster Shack, Java Blend coffee, the Blue Nose II on Hollis Street, among many other things. We are never in Halifax long enough, and have returned many times, never running out of things to see and do. We are looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Halifax was easy to walk around and so much to do along the waterfront. We had a great time with lots of restaurants to choose from. We also found a great Wine Bar called Peacocks. Which we really enjoyed and were made to feel like friends when we arrived. lots of activities and lots of boat trips we did at least 5.

I didn't spend much time in Halifax, since we just flew in, stayed overnight and then travelled on to our final destination. What I did see and do was quite good and the people we met were all very helpful and friendly.

The waterfront is very nice with many restaurants.
The waterfront is very nice with many restaurants. The Public Gardens are beautiful and the Citadel is worth visiting especially at noon to witness the the firing of the canon ceremony. We took the ferry to Dartmouth to have a view of downtown from the sea.

Halifax really is a great place to stay.
Halifax really is a great place to stay. It has everything you could want - history, good choice of pubs/restaurants. Plenty of places and activities to book for children through to senior citizens.
We stayed for 4 days after touring Nova Scotia for two weeks - it really was perfect for us as I am 60 and the others were 24-31.
I would definitely go back.

Have stayed here twice now and both times been great. Big clean rooms, large comfy beds, great bathrooms with lovely toiletries. Gym/pool good too. Staff lovely. Well located for downtown Halifax and parking available and reasonable. Just need to drive around the back of the hotel as parking is on road parallel to front entrance. I managed the spaces no problem and I'm not the best parker. Will stay again.
We always stay here when in Halifax. We had a very spacious suite with a wonderful view. Two large flat screen tvs also. Excellent leisurely breakfast with lots of choice.
The price was so reasonable too - one wouldn't get accommodation in a two bit hotel in Ireland for what we paid. I love the Cambridge Suites. Fantastic location and friendly, welcoming staff.
The location is very convenient, closed to downtown(waterfront).Route 1 bus station is in front of the building, which directly reaches out waterfront and Halifax shopping center. The price is affordable. There is a 24-hour front desk, they are all students, very friendly. Clearly marked and easy to find. Located on campus, very safe.
Excellently situated. Very good value. Great breakfast. Great staff. Our go to hotel in Halifax. 10 minutes to the waterfront without the valet parking expense.
