This site is perfect for the ferry and the animals are wonderful! It felt homey. There is only one bathroom but there is also a utility sink which we used as a second sink. It was fabulous fun! Be adventuresome and enjoy!

Beautiful location with rooms that have everything you need for a nice stay. No drinking water to the room but you can fill up a jug from tank in the park. Park is small with play equipment over the road. Beach is a close walk.

Greak hiking at the coservation park, with routes for a range of abilties. There are excellent views along the coast, out across to Kangaroo Island from even the basic hiking trails. You can also get quite close to the kangaroos in the park, which won't feed out of your hand (I don't think you're allowed to try that, by the way) but they are not scared of people either. We didn't go in whale migration season but Second Valley offers many vantage points to see whales if you go at the right time. It is also not far from Victor Harbour, which also has wildlife tours and great views for whales. Normanville is only 10 a minute drive away, whihc also has some good dining and lovely beaches for summer. If coming from Adelaide, on your way to or from Second Valley, you can easily pass through McLaren Vale for more great places to eat and, of course, terrific wine. The Woodhenge Shiraz from Wirra Wirra is a personal favourite every time I visit McLaren Vale.
