Rooms were lovely, staff friendly. Had a cute reading room in the main part of the house that overlooked the garden and was a great place to sit and read a book after dinner.

Just finished 2 weeks travelling around Tassie, and this was the best by far. Had the Garden Cottage and Maureen was an exceptional hostess. Attentive but not intrusive. It's the little things she has thought of, from magnifying mirror in bathroom to fresh milk, cookies & port. The breakfast was huge and lasted us 2 mornings. Thank you 🙏🏼

The location is wonderful. Loved the town of Richmond. We stayed here 5 nights and drove around. Just 20 minutes from Hobart airport and 20 minutes into Hobart town too. Lots of beautiful drives in the area. We didnt do wine tastings but saw many beautiful orchards and cellar doors all around the area. The cottage itself is very beautiful with old world charm but modern comforts. I loved the Chinaware, which had so much more character than the plain white crockery we usually get in other places. This cottage is on the main road, so within easy reach of main attractions as well as lovely cafes.

Richmond is a very pretty town and a great place to stay in, if all you want to do is relax or day trips to various natural attractions. Hobart is within arm's reach if you are driving, so need for city action can also be easily fulfilled. Being a quiet town though, food and drinks may be difficult to find after 8pm.
There are great cafes and walking lanes for the daytime. My husband enjoyed playing golf in the mornings while I would walk around town. We would then take advantage of the long summer days and drive out - Eastern Coastal Drive, Mt Field National Park, Hobart MONA Museum, Bruny Island, Maria Island etc.

Richmond, Tasmania, is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking a picturesque and peaceful escape. The town’s well-preserved Georgian architecture, historic landmarks, and local attractions make it a unique and enriching experience.
We have visited Richmond several times and it never disappoints. Richmond Botanical Co, opposite the maize, is our favourite shop. Richmond Botanicals Co. supplies a range of unique luxury Tasmanian giftware, including hand poured Tasmanian inspired Botanical soy candles, skin care products and much more.

Richmond is a very pretty convict town and easy to walk to all the sights and very quaint shops. We were limited to only one place to eat mid-week the Richmond Arms Hotel. Richmond is only 18 minutes to the airport for a very easy hire car drop off.

The intact historic buildings provide the visitor with a view of the past and certainly the Richmond Bridge is an incredible example of early architecture. This is so complementary to the rest of the town.

With only 1 day, impossible to see everything, but a stroll around the town and you see the most interesting buildings and homes, dating back to the mid 1800's and early 1900,s ,there are many antique shops filled with interesting artifacts, several excellent places to eat, and a very interesting miniature display village of Hobart in the early days of settlement and growth. The bridge built over the Coal River is a perfect example of the amazing hard work early convicts endured, and it is supposed too be the oldest in Australia, built 1823-25.

Loved the privacy of this quiet little home. Plenty of room for a family or group. It was just up the road from Richmond and not far from Sorrell. Bed was comfortable and home was very clean. Had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Great parking and good signage. Very private.
Maureen was very welcoming. Both the Garden Cottage and the Chalet were perfect. The accommodation decor and gardens were in keeping with the heritage feel of Richmond.
The breakfast was outstanding - better than any other bnb we have stayed at in Tasmania.
The cottage was clean and spacious and very cosy. It contained a kitchenette and laundry so felt very homelike. The owner was very helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone considering a stay in lovely Richmond.
What a great find in the middle of historic Richmond. Clean ,comfortable and well appointed, with nice private rear courtyard at rear of room. Whats more it was exceptional value
