    Nice little town.

Nice little town. Has all the major shops including Subway, KFC, McDonalds, Woolworths, Coles, Aldi & even K-Mart. It even has its own hospital. A lot of good history for an old Gold town. Great location to setup as a base camp to explore Central Victoria.

Charming C19th goldfields town with friendly people.

Charming C19th goldfields town with friendly people. Nearly all of the businesses are family owned and run. The service everywhere was great (I think cash is appreciated). Easily accessible from Melbourne by train. Beautiful railway station.

Maryborough was great for a weekend away to catch up with friends and look at some local sites. I really enjoyed the stay at the Bull and Mouth hotel and the meals were fabulous. I loved our Thai meal also and walking around the town looking at all the old buildings.

Maryborough is a lovely, old goldfields town offering many interesting Victorian and Edwardian era buildings to view including the spectacular railway station. Close to the center there are two wonderful parks, both worthy of exploration. It is an excellent base for a touring discovery of the immediate local area of smaller towns and vineyards.

Maryborough has two beautiful parks with lakes, lots of bird life including swans and ducks. there are plenty of playgrounds, and an excellent swimming pool complex including a section for babies and toddlers. Great assortment of shops and eating places, we enjoyed very good fish and chips and yummy Chinese food. Maryborough is situated near many historical towns including Castlemaine, Newstead, Clunes, Avoca and Talbot, all worth a visit. and is centered between Bendigo and Ballarat, an hours drive each way. Maryborough has something to offer children and adults alike.

Best fit-out of any country motel room in Australia I have ever come across. Modern, tasteful, clean, comfortable and highly functional. Nespresso type coffee maker, plenty and easily accessible power points and USB connections were a real bonus. You can even Chromecast your streaming services to the - bigger than usual - TV screen, a service that you do not necessarily find in 5 star hotels as yet.

We were in going to be coming in late so they left the key in the key box for us and told us that if we needed anything to ring the bell. The lights and heater were on, which made it nice for us. If we come back to Maryborough, we will definitely stay at the Highlander Haven Motel again.

Immaculate. So clean. I'm sick of staying in hotels where they charge you a fortune but don't clean the shower or vacuum under things. This motel was spick and span. Really appreciated that. Also great cutlery and plates etc.
