The door man was approachable and willing to help.
Desk staff, very friendly and professional.

We were only there for an afternoon and a night in transit for the ferry to Heron Island. We had an incredibly delicious meal at "Burger Urge" there. Highly recommend this for families. The Gladstone hotel was also super clean and friendly.

The people of Gladstone were great.
The people of Gladstone were great. The one disappointment was not being able to access some of the beaches by public transport. E.g. Tannum sands beach etc. The bus system was very easy to access. The 500 one way and the 501 the opposite direction. If you missed something one way you picked it up by going back the other direction.

Late check in at 11pm was convenient and communication was good at first. Parking was close & right in front of the room. Entered the room, smelled like an ashtray. All we wanted was a decent place to sleep & Immediately saw a cockroach on the wardrobe and on the wall. I was too grossed out & could not bring myself to sleep in the room, so i literally slept in my car. I was able to contact booking.com customer service since that's who i booked the room through, i was able to speak to someone promptly and they said they would contact the hotel themselves to request a refund of some sort. I also tried to contact management first thing in the morning but apparently reception does not open until 2pm, that's helpful! Weird hours for a front desk. Never got a refund or even a partial refund and never even received a response from management and booking.com never received a response from them either.
Booking.com was good they did the right thing & sent me a partial refund on their own dime since the hotel did not take responsibility.
The water pressure in the shower was actually really great, i figured i should try to at least get my money's worth if i couldn't even sleep in the room due to it being infested with cockroaches. but guess what? there were NO towels in the room, not one. I was glad i conveniently had towels in the vehicle i had because i was on a road trip!
I recommend this hotel if you like paying money to sleep with cockroaches. Yuck.

Gladstone is a great commercial and industrial hub and there are plenty of attractions to visit.
Doing your own exploring is the way to go here as if you have a rental car or motorhome there are short excursions you can make easily within 1 day.
Nice eateries, clubs, pubs, or malls to shop for your own tastes.
If you are looking for luxury prpbably wouldn't suit but for having a laid back no hassle holiday Gladstone is great.

Gladstone is an industrial town, but they have lots of facilities along East Shores particularly for families. There is a range of things to do with places like Tannum Sands a short drive. There are a range of food options to suit all tastes within the city centre.

On the first night we arrived after a 6.5hr drive and advised we could eat at the Oakes, so why not! The Oakes and Vine Restaurant dinner was 4.9/5 compliments to the chef and crew. Hadn't eaten all day but that Red emperor was cooked to perfection and my husbands T-bone was perfect med-rare and soft. It was great to see that Gladstone was really such a family friendly place, given the parks, marina area with bbq's and generally people just out and about. The cleanliness of the town itself was immaculate as were the parks so council are doing a great job. Went to get a gift as it was kind of last minute trip and found what I wanted as the shopping centre had everything we could have asked for. Thanks Happyrock for a great weekend!

We were travelling and needed a one night stay, and this was perfect! Marc at checkin is super helpful, and the hotel room was clean, comfortable, and stylish. Location in the town centre is great as it is close to activities, and the hotel has its own restaurant too, which makes a stop over after a long drive very easy! Great comfy beds!
This is one of the best Hotels in Gladstone. Unbelievably comfortable rooms, amazing views of the harbour, mini bar ( for late nights) , the Rocksalt Restaurant ( that also deliver room service). I'm completely impressed w the staff and their professionalism is I think the best attribute of this Hotel. 5⭐
