Must be in your tick off list, book a Great Barrier Reef tour (Dream Time catamaran is tops - offers snorkelling and scuba diving, equipment and preps comes with package but don't forget your waterproof camera like I did, if you do, you can hire one, bring some sea sickness pills if going to the Reef, just in case, go on a tour to Kuranda (cable car ride, amphibious vehicle ride and the train ride are spectacular) visit the free swimming pool near the Esplanade, enjoy sea sports, enjoy an helicopter ride, taste the variety of food and love life!

I stayed there by myself sometimes but when my wife and I come to Cairns we always stay at our favorite hotel and that is the Pacific. Enjoy it you will have a great time as we have done over the last couple of years.
The room/apartment had everything we wished for: King bed, very large room, balcony, kitchen, very clean and modern, car parking, restaurant. The hotel is located just a stroll away from Cairns Promenade, city and hospital.
Beautiful view from my room balcony of the pool area and Cairns Esplanade/ocean. My bed was comfortable, bathroom was big, and the hotel is a close walk to all the essentials. You can also smoke on the balcony.
Good hotel near Cairns centre on the esplanade. Very straightforward. Discount at nearby Muddy's Cafe as there is no restaurant at hotel. Free parking on site too.
Clean, comfortable and spacious apartments in a great location. Handy for the airport and also close to the Esplanade: it's a very pleasant walk into the city.
