The breakfast buffet was a bit pricy, but worth it if you are pressed for time or want to get your money's worth :)
The location is great and we were able to find free street parking over the night. The hotel also offers underground parking if need be.
The old city center is within walking distance (even though from the map it didn't feel like it was). So we were able to explore the town even though it was just an overnight stop on a road trip for us.
Located in the Traunpark in the centre of Wels, the modern 4-star Best Western Plaza Hotel Wels offers a spa area with a sauna, a steam bath, and without a hot tub.
Located on the historic Town Square of Wels, the AMEDIA Plaza Wels Kremsmünstererhof is only a 5-minute walk away from the Welser Messe fairgrounds. Free Wi-Fi and private parking are available.
We knew nothing about Austria. I was trying to find a nice room with Kitchenette at a good price. I was trying to find a place close to Hallstatt and Salzburg. This was as close as I could get. Each day we drove at least an hour away from Wels to go to the things we chose to visit. Wels seemed like a business area. It was close to the highway.

Wels is only 55,000 people but it feels like a much larger place in terms of what there is to see and do. It dates from the 1100s and there are many traces of the Roman occupation, with hundreds of beautiful old buildings, nice gardens, excellent restaurants and for those who are interested, shopping. There are hundreds of mles of bike oaths leading out into the countryside and more hiking possibilities than you could do in a month.

This little town is well located on the Austrian side of the German Austrian border.
We chose Wels as our night stay town while travelling through Germany to Croatia.
It is easy to get around, the city center offers many dining and shopping alternatives.

Although, Wels has nothing special to see, you can do many things in the area. I would recommend to rent a car and visit the surroundings.
I want to recommend the Gösser Bräu on Kaiser-Josef-Platz, it is really a good eat.

Wels is easily accessible on the main Vienna to Salzburg railway line. Good facilities in town for hotels and shops.
The cities main attractions are the older parts of the town centre, the parks, walks by the river and small town atmosphere. A visit can be accomplished in less than a day.

We only stayed for a night, as we were passing through Austria on the way to UK, but it was lovely. We had booked 2 rooms and the staff was kind enough to put us in adjoining rooms. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were super comfy. They had mini-fridge, cups, kettle, coffee, TV, fan, nice towels, even pen and paper for notes. Check-in and check-out was pretty straightforward and the staff was kind and friendly. Honestly can't fault the place.
The location was excellent for my work purposes. Other than that, not happy. The description given on Booking was misleading, however the owner did state that this was due to Booking.com's limited input questions, causing the indescrepencies.
It had been renovated so looked nice. It had a nice dining table and a good sized TV.
Once I complained about the cleanliness etc, they did send someone to clean and provide new sponges, and clean tea towels.
The location was great, easily within walking distance to anything I needed. My original room had everything I needed. The breakfast and hotel restaurant was good.
