After few days visiting Albania for the first time, Dhermi and Ksamil, my conclusion is that the place to go is Dhermi. Very nice beach, sea really clean and transparent and fully organised. Perfect for sea life (beach, sun, swimming) and at the same time fully organised for nightlife (restaurants, bar, clubs...).

This was an amazing little town perched on a steep hill overlooking the sea that was complete with a plaza and refreshments café with a stunning view. Probably the essence of what Americans think of when they think of a charming, rural, European location. The town itself was good for walking and short hikes, like ascending the upper parts of the town to the church with an even more excellent view than the plaza and café below. Furthermore, the beach, which is a 40-minute walk and 200 meter elevation change, is surprisingly nice and not too big nor too small. As someone who likes to travel, I only spent a very limited time in Dhërmi. The old town with its traditional houses was beautifully built against the steep mountainsides. I enjoyed strolling through the streets. I was there at the end of May and it was still very quiet on the beach. Judging from the preparations on the beach, I think it must be very busy in the summer months. Too busy for me. Other holidaymakers might like it. I would advise travellers to go earlier in the spring. Perhaps June is still ok ?

Beautiful old seaside village on the Albanian Riviera, with buildings built into the mountainside, stunning beaches (best in the country) and hiking trails, a superb bakery (Nico's) and grill (Genti) up the hill, incredible natural wonders like hundreds of nesting swallows, wild olive groves, herbs and hibiscus vines, great beachfront bars and restaurants, and a precious mix of old Greek-speakers and young Albanians. The perfect Mediterranean paraside to escape to.

Wifi worked but not all the time. Nearest area is quiet, very local and with greek vibe. It is not near the beach, so be prepared for a little hike :) but Dhermi is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Nearest area looks a bit „ancient”, so you won’t find there many bars and cafes. But our host recommended us nice local pub with fantastic sea view and cheap beer. We were provided with a good advice on how and where to catch a bus (as it’s not that easy in Dhermi), where to go, what to see, etc. Nice terrace with spectacular view on the mountains, it’s a pleasure to have a breakfast there. Good breakfast, clean and well furnished suits, the building is super new.
