There is so much to love about this log cabin! First of all, the hosts are wonderful. They answered all of our questions before our stay, and when we arrived, they met us at the door and showed us around the cabin personally. They even treated us to some snacks and homemade brandy! I didn't know I like brandy, but now I love it. The cabin is gorgeous and spacious and has everything we needed, including a washing machine, games, ponchos, and all the little things we didn't have room to pack. The front porch is huge and was perfect for my afternoon nap. The surrounding village is lovely, and Plitvice Lakes is very close. If we ever return to this beautiful area, this will be the first booking we make.

It is easy to find, very close to Slunj, the Barac cave and the Plitvice Lakes, thus it is remote, very quiet, with a breathtaking view from the terrace. The house is very well equipped, the hot tub is great fun. The host was very nice, waiting for us when we arrived.

Our family of 4 (kids are 12 & 14) are wrapping up 7 months of travel. After 45 different stops along the way, I will say that Hedgehog’s place is AMAZING IN EVERY WAY! What an incredible escape from the busy cities that are also awesome in their own way to a simpler time. The scenery is beautiful, then layer in the myriad of animals (sheep, wild boar, pony’s, highland cows, etc), and top it off with one of the coolest cabins that I’ve ever seen. The cabin foundation is 100 years old, but the renovations provide all the modern comforts desired. Lastly, the little extras and finishing touches take it over the top.
