For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.
Second visit to hotel since June. Staff make it outstanding for their service. Nice to see international employees plus all speak English. Shuttle from station to hotel/return excellent. Good breakfast.
Have stayed in Matsumoto many times- this now is my ONLY hotel to stay at. Staff professional, friendly, speak English & breakfast was excellent! 10 min walk from station, First time best to call for the shuttle to know directions. Call from station or information will phone. I truly enjoyed everything about my visit. Will be back!
The kaiseki meals provided were cooked with careful attention and were delicious. The location was pretty good. They provide free transport to and from Kamikochi but you have to make sure to be at the right place at the right time. They gave us a free shuttle to Matsumoto as well which was very nice and saved me time and money. The room was nice and clean. The baths were perfect and had very nice views. It felt very 'traditional' and really gave me the onsen experience I was hoping for.
It's a beautiful, elegant hotel, with services that totally match the category. My room was large and comfortable, the hotel staff was kind, welcoming and professional, the breakfast exceptional.
7 minutes walking from the train station, a Family mart less then 5 minutes from the hotel and a lot of restaurants within 10 to 20 minutes walking from the hotel, plus the hotel itself has 2 restaurants, if I am not wrong.
They include for their guest a visit to a nearby famous onsen (around 20 minutes with a shuttle).
We were very impressed with this hotel. The location near the railway station, restaurants, tourist attractions and the Art Museum was fantastic.
The service, the staff, the rooms were excellent. The availability of the shuttle bus to take us to and from the railway station to the hotel with our luggage was invaluable, especially in the rain.
This hotel is incredible value for money.
Perfect spot to stay if planning on hiking in Kamakochi. The staff were excellent, and love the wood cabin feel of the place. Dinner that is purchasable there was also very nice!
All the staff were attentive and helpful. The food was amazing and the building quite unique..
There was a free shuttle bus into and from the station which was really useful.
Location was very good, being near Matsumoto Castle and the main shopping/ restaurant areas. The staff were helpful and friendly. The courtesy shuttle bus back to the station was a bonus as the timings worked for us.
