The house dates back to the 17th century. Good views from the windows, amiable, cultivated and empathetic host and a good breakfast that avoids the standard full English fry-up.

Ideal for our small dog, she could run all the way around the outside of the cottage once the gate was shut and she could not get out. Well equipped kitchen and the bed was very comfortable.

Our room had the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in - super king size. Dawn is ‘a baker and a maker’, we were able to sample homemade jams, chutneys and millionaire shortbread! The breakfast was immense also. All delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Welcome warm, restaurant excellent (my crumbed duck’s egg was cooked to perfection, while my wife’s chips were models - golden-crisp outside, fluffy potato inside). Waiting staff attentive. Moffat is perfect, loved it and hope to visit again and would definitely book to stay at 29 Well Street. Mark and Dawn lively couple who seem to have thought of everything in the way of little extras to make a stay enjoyable..including home made jams and chutneys.
