We had never previously stayed in a holiday caravan, so it took us a few minutes to adjust to the smaller accommodations, but once we adjusted to how best to store our luggage in the small bedrooms (there is adequate closet and wall shelving for storage), we were perfectly settled and comfortable. Petina used a customized "welcome board" to greet us by name and provide her contact info, as well as a nice basket of biscuits! I had some questions about how to adjust the wall heating registers, and Petina quickly replied with an easy explanation which quickly warmed up a chilly morning. The beds were some of the most comfortable I've ever experienced in a rental property, and included a mattress warmer, which was heavenly. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated and clean. We saw dozens and dozens of adorable bunnies from the large windows in the main living room. It was an easy walk just up the road to several fantastic restaurants. The lovingly preserved historic train station is close by, and boasts a steam train on the main line. It is well worth a visit. We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, peaceful town of Boat of Garten.

Willow"s Nordic Shepherds Hut, a property with a garden and a terrace, is set in Ballater, 47 km from CairnGorm National Park, 20 km from Aboyne Golf Club, as well as 25 km from Corgarff Castle. Beautiful space, very comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and the shower had great pressure and heat despite the eco hot water tank being smaller than average. Highly recommend keeping the skylight uncovered at night to appreciate the stars!
