Boasting a patio with garden views, a private beach area and an outdoor swimming pool, Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat can be found in Trafalgar, close to Trafalgar Beach and 1.6 km from Palm Beach. It was a great breakaway for me and my son. If ever you feel like a 'Robinson Crusoe' vibe then this place will tick all the boxes. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the stream and the ability to cook outside. We also enjoyed the proximity to the sea and one has the whole length of the coast to explore at leisure. Best of all, and this was quite a surprise for me, was the internet connectivity. I would have loved to have spent a few days working from there with connectivity like that. We were warned about the noisy frogs, but we loved this symphony at night. Actually as we now live in the Netherlands looking for natural sounds to stream is the closest we can get to the real thing. So, definitely best experienced for real!

Luxury Tented Village @ Urban Glamping offers luxury tented accommodation in St Lucia. There is an outdoor swimming pool and large BBQ area where guests can mingle. What a fantastic property with tents nestled under several huge trees which merge together forming a canopy. We felt peaceful and relaxed whether sitting outside our tent or around the pool. The tent is luxurous, the parking area is safe and the location of the property on the street is just perfect.

Situated on the Manyoni Game Reserve and overlooking the Msunduzi River, Rhino Sands Safari Camp provides accommodation in luxury tents. I've stayed in any hotels, but Rhino Sands is truly unique. The staff are exceptional; nothing was too much trouble. Food excellent. The ranger and drives were amazing. Over the last 3 day days we seen and been close to in the wild to lions, cheethas, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, elephants, the list goes on. In somes, just metres away. Great experience. Zululand Lodge is located within walking distance of the Msineni River and offers accommodation on a private wildlife conservancy near Hluhluwe. Everything, the staff were fantastic, the room absolutely beautiful and rustic, saw hippos on the bush walk, the views from the dining and roof top lounge out of this world. The pool, even tough still a work in progress, is a beautiful oasis in the hot african sun.
