Located in northern Indiana, in the heart of Amish Country, this hotel is 10 minutes’ walk from the Shipshewana Auction & Flea Market. Extremely well kept and clean. Staff were exceptionally helpful and interested in each and every guest making it more personal .

Located in Madison and with General Butler State Park reachable within 26 km, The Chandler Hotel provides a fitness centre, allergy-free rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. Beautiful hotel perfectly situated to enjoy the town. The rooms and baths are huge, clean, and very tastefully decorated. For me, it was an unexpected, oh wow, experience. Parking is on the street and was no issue. There are plenty of spaces and no crime in the area. The price is amazing. The one potential issue would be the lack of an elevator. If the first floor is booked, you'll have to take the gorgeous stairs. Extra points, a lot of extra points, for providing a real coffee pot with fresh ground coffee that doesn't come in a plastic bag and big porcelain mugs to drink it from.

Breakfast was great - we also had dinner at the main floor restaurant and it was also great. Loved the decor, the rooms and the beds were comfy. Staff were great. Great location. We did ask to be moved from our original room due to the noise of the sidewalk construction going on on the side street and that was accommodated. Unfortunately we arrived at the hotel very late due to delayed flights and our luggage was lost (did not get it until mid day the next day). The front desk did have toothbrushes and toothpaste we could have - not sure if there is an opportunity to have a few additional items available, if even for purchase (eg pyjamas/t-shirt etc). Perhaps this doesn't happen often enough for travellers to Fort Wayne to warrant anything more.
