Great staff, especially Anna at the front desk whose recommendations for restaurants and excursions were excellent. Lovely breakfast. Located right beside the castle and walking distance to everything including Roman baths and bridge..

Original Douro Hotel ligger i Peso da Régua, 400 meter fra Douro-museet, og har en fellesstue, terrasse og utsikt over byen. This is a beautifully restored hotel that doesn’t look like much from the outside, but is just delightful on the interior. The owner-manager spent literally years carefully and thoroughly renovating this nearly 150 year old building, carefully preserving many old architectural elements that provide a truly charming atmosphere. The result is stunning! Also the breakfast buffet was amazing with such a wide array of delicious choices. Our stay here was well worth the slightly higher rate. The front desk staff turned out to be the owner and she was so helpful in directing us in exploring an old, nearby town that suited our interests perfectly.

Set in Vilarinho de Cotas, Casa Dona Edite Guesthouse Douro features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, shared lounge, restaurant, and free WiFi throughout the property. We like breakfast. It was home-made style with local flavor and fresh bread and fruits. Food was delicious. The owners showed us around the hotel and some beautiful nature trails near by.

Friendly welcome, unreasonable hospitality, beautiful garden and pool, figs are fresh from the tree, it felt like home and meeting new friends, the owners are super! I hope to come again on pretrip when we work in region!!
