Featuring 4-star accommodation, Studios by Aqua Natura Hotels is located in Porto Moniz, 200 metres from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools and 40 km from Girao Cape. Place was lovely, very modern clean rooms, everyday cleaning service, air conditioner. We’ve been welcomed with sparkling wine and left with goodbye gift. If you have a birthday, you may count on a sweet surprise. There was a mini bar, kitchen with microwave and electric plate and small fridge, also espresso maker with excellent quality of coffee, kitchen utensils allowed for some cooking. The view showed surrounding hotel and ocean in the distance. I really enjoyed the 2 min. walk to the rooftop restaurant for breakfast because the view is amazing from there. The breakfast offered wide variety of products and meals, with porridge and some things for sandwich ( cheese, ham or marmalade/nuttella, home-made yogurt). There were also couple of positions a la carte and lots of sweet options. Coffee was also of great quality. I can’t comment on most of the meals because I am vegan and none of the meals a la carte was vegan, also it was possible to eat a sandwich only with marmalade or tomato/pepper for me the rest was just cheese and ham. I saw many people including my partner enjoyed that a lot, but if you are following vegan diet it may be cheaper to skip the breakfast option and buy yourself pack of oats and fruits because coffee is in the room anyway. However, the restaurant view was outstanding and I quite enjoyed that restaurant anyway. They always had a plant based milk so at least a porridge and fresh maracuja. The roof jacuzzi looked autor louring but I didn’t used it, bathing robes are included though as well as a daily ticket to natural swimming pools. We preferred a bit more the cachalote pools that were nearby so didn’t use the it but is is a very nice option closer to the hotel. The hotel also offers spa and massage if someone wish, as well as a little cowork area if you work remotely. WiFi was also excellent. In general, it was excellent and I would totally recommend to everyone to stay there.

Well located in Funchal, Barceló Funchal Oldtown provides air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a fitness centre. Featuring room service, this property also has a restaurant and a terrace. Guests can have a drink at the bar. This might’ve been my favourite accommodation out of our whole trip (we stayed in 5 different accommodations including this one, as we were travelling all around Portugal). This is a fairly new hotel but it is very high end, has wonderful staff, and location is superior. One of our highlights was the rooftop bar/pool you see in the photos. View was absolutely stunning. It’s steps away from the pier/marina, main city centre and tons of restaurants around. We plan to return to Madeira and spend more days there and we’ll be definitely staying here again. Hope this place succeeds and will still be here when we come back in a few years! Also, the prices were such a steal for high end this hotel is - I’m assuming it’s because it’s a new hotel.

The rooms come with a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. A balcony or patio are featured in certain rooms. Every room includes a private bathroom equipped with a shower. The hotel is in the very city center where you have everything at hand. Just around the corner from the cathedral or Avenida do Mar with all the buses going around the island. The staff are so nice and helpful! When I mentioned that I would have leave before breakfast they immediately suggested to bring something to my room in the evening and put it in the mini fridge for me. Also, they didn’t have a slightest problem with storing my luggage for a week, when I hiked across the island. The service was just perfect! The room was clean, quiet and well equipped. Would stay again.

Each accommodation is elegantly decorated and includes tea-and-coffee making facilities, a minibar, and a balcony with sea views. All rooms have a seating area with a sofa. Even in bad weather you can still relax with a view of the sea :) Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast. Parking at the hotel. The location is also good for trips to nearby levadas by car. We also ordered a massage (standard quality) and ate at a Japanese restaurant (longer wait, but good food). Wifi without problems.

I would like to thank especially Marlene, the bartender, who was extremely helpful and caring, telling interesting stories and facts about Madeira, making our stay unforgettable. Also, Aurea , who showed us a wine cellar and made a short tour even if it was closed yet. We are so thankful to all the team including reception who is doing the utmost job to make their guests feel welcomed and I am sure that the manager is reading this. You have done everything right, your hotel is like a big family where each member takes care of each other and treats the guests as members of the family and we could feel this. I wish you and your team all the best. We will be back one day to experience this hospitality again which is rarely seen around the world.
