The best stay on our trip through Denmark! From the warm welcome of Rikke and the talkative and cuddly cats and happy dogs, the serene views and silence, to the incredible breakfast of fresh, local and tasty flavours. Franks knowledge and jolly demeanour had us entertained and relaxed. The apartment was clean, cozy and the perfect size for two adults. We slept like babies in the soft beds with a fresh breeze from the skylights above. "Svineriet" has a restful and lovely atmosphere. For animal-lovers like ourselves, it was delightful to see how well Rikke and Frank provide for all their animals with love and respect. We couldn't ask for more for our stay - we highly recommend Rikke og Franks Svineri!

Situado em Ribe, em um edifício histórico, a 80 metros da Catedral de Ribe, o Præstegade 11 é um apartamento com jardim e churrasqueira. The holiday house at Præstegarde 11 is absolutely beautiful. The house has been lovingly renovated to the highest of standards. The appliances and fittings are first-rate, a quooker tap instead of a kettle - genius, wish we had one at home, USB ports in the plug sockets, a huge dishwasher (tabs provided), a washing machine, lovely shower and comfortable beds. The house is literally a stone’s throw from the cathedral, you can see it from several windows and especially from the garden. The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed the cosy patio area for dinner in the evening. The town of Ribe is the oldest in Denmark and picture-perfect. There is so much to see and do and it is just a short drive to the sea. The bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival was much appreciated, thank you, and the local bakery Pompeji was excellent, we have never seen so many cakes and pastries in one place before :-) Remember in Denmark to bring your own bed linen and towels or be prepared to request them at a small additional cost. We brought our own which was no problem at all. We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house and wonderful town.

This place is an peaceful oasis on the wild, windy coast of western Denmark and we felt very lucky to have been able to stay here. Let’s get to the many reasons why: 1. The top of the list is Ole’s beautiful garden, which is filled with flowers, plants, birds, fountains, and multiple sitting areas thoughtfully designed to allow you to sit in the sun or shade, as you wish. The smell from the lilacs and other flowers was absolutely heavenly. 2. We were able to charge and store our e-bikes in the garage where they were safe and dry. This is a big positive for touring cyclists. 3. The whole apartment also smelled of flowers that had been lovingly cut from the garden and placed in a vase on the table. 4. Ole had so many treats waiting for us, we couldn’t believe it. The fridge was filled with eggs, bread, deli meats, butter, jam, orange juice, and condiments perfect for a very nice breakfast, all free. He also provided coffee and tea, and chocolates. 5. There was beer and wine for a very low price to purchase, and local jams and oils as well. 4. The apartment was very tastefully decorated with reminders of the sea and real plants (not plastic) everywhere. 5. The bedding was of the highest quality and the mattress cover made it feel like one big bed instead of two. We slept like the dead. 6. There is a grocery store 180 meters from the house that makes delicious traditional Danish rolls and cookies. My husband and I both have a horrible sweet tooth. They made these homemade crispy cookie sandwiches with a layer of creme in-between and then dipped in chocolate. Oh, my goodness gracious. 6. Last but not least, Ole invited us to have a glass of wine in the garden where we spoke about the wonders of life. This, he said, was what “hygge” was all about. 🥰
