We didn't have a hire car and the local buses are regular and cheap. The boat trip to Curieuse and St Pierre was fantastic, and Vallee de Mai is a must (also doable by bus). We have teenage children and having separate apartments on 2 floors was a bonus, but might be a problem with young children. The path to Grand Anse over the hills is a great walk.

Everything was spotlessly clean. The apartment has beautiful balconies and a very well equipped kitchen. Everything is very spacious and we just felt comfortable all around. The apartment is in a perfect location! Everything you need is within walking distance: Bus, Supermarket, Restaurants, TakeAways, Beach. It was an outstanding experience!
