It is difficult to say just how much we like the HillHouse, from the moment we arrived the manager, Suavi, went out of his way to make sure that our stay was special and that anything we needed was taken care of, if his enthusiasm could be bottled I would own several crates and have a standing order for a lifetime's supply. The hotel is in a fantastic location, you're already in the old town and just a few minutes walk from the Roman theatre and stadium which now sits beneath the pedestrianised shopping and cafe street that runs down to the park and the splendid Bishop's Palace (incidentally, there are more ruins in the basement of H&M). In fact the location is so fantastic that it is now 20 feet inside the barrier to the old town which is why Google Street View still shows a rather old and run down building in its location - that isn't the hotel which is bright and beautifully constructed in the gap between the old building and the Philippopolis Restaurant while still managing to include a section of the old Roman city wall in the breakfast room. The room itself was large and airy, beautifully decorated with a view across the Kapana nighlife district on one side and the old town on the other but very quiet at night. A comfortable bed and sofa plus good bathroom were finessed by an excellent breakfast each day that ensures that whenever we visit Plovdiv we will not consider staying anywhere else. In fact, if the HillHouse isn't available, we'll change our holiday dates until it is. Suavi arranged parking for us in advance in the municipal secure carpark which is about 50 metres across the road which was easily accessible.

I stayed there for 2 nights. Before arrival, the receptionist (Jeff) was very responsive and friendly. Upon arrival he gave me a free upgrade on the room. Room was very clean and spacious. Building is cozy and charming. It is conveniently located near restaurants, old town and attractions. Wifi was high speed. When I wanted to leave the cleaning ladies (Zoya and Tonka) called a taxi for me. Taxi didn't take card, and I had no cash. They even gave me cash to pay for my taxi! Without charging my credit card!! If I visit Plovdiv again, I will stay here for sure.

Centrally located in Plovdiv, with free parking. The house was clean and well stocked, with an oven and a washing machine. The beds were comfortable and clean, and we especially appreciated that there were three toilets. Check in was easy, and our host was responsive! There was also Netflix. The building was new and overall a very pleasant stay, and a listing we greatly recommend to stay in if guests are visiting Plovdiv.
