The owner met us when we arrived and gave us the tour of the place and also gave very good tips about where to eat. The bed was heavenly, the best I have experienced in a hotel/hostel/BnB. The room had all the necessities, the view to the back forest. Even though the place is in suburban area, the yard was so private and nice we were sad to only have stayed one night. The breakfast was so amazing and good! I have nothing bad to say about this place.

They make you feel at home. Our room was spacious, beds are comfy, with tea, coffee and tasty cookies available. The garden is beautifully maintained with two pools to cool off. The breakfasts were great and we had an evening meal cooked by Frans which was so delicious, some of the best food we had all trip. We were sad to leave and will definitely be returning.

The pool view was beautiful mostly at night, and the breakfast choices were stunning. The staff was incredibly helpful and polite, creating a truly peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The location is ideal. Gordon's Bay is a nice little town, not far from Cape Town or the airport. The setting is spectacular, with mountains and sea, and the beach is protected from major waves. There are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The town is safe and the property secure. There is a beautiful drive along the coast towards Betty's Bay, which I highly recommend. There is a colony of African penguins there. Big Skies has a small pool, which we used in the heat of the afternoon. The breakfasts were very good, and there was a decent amount of variety. I enjoy the personal attention of guesthouses and small hotels, and Kobus and Irene were excellent hosts. Conversation at breakfast and the bar with them and other guests was enjoyable. Parking is inside the property gates and is secure.
