Yamagata Zao Pension Aplon Stage er staðsett í náttúrulegu landslagi og býður upp á friðsælt athvarf. Good location to visit Lake Okama and to experience lovely outdoor Onsen in the nearby village. However the top reason to stay here is the wonderfully friendly owners and the beautiful food served for both dinner and breakfast. Simply lovely, helpful people. A fantastic experience not to be missed

Right next to the gondola, a short 1 minute walk. I skied to the G Square entrance after an awesome day on the slopes. There's a few bar/restaurants right next door. My room overlooked one of the runs. I could see the lifts and gondola from my room. Spacious bedroom with shared bathroom and sink just outside. Onsen downstairs. Dry room to leave my boots and snowboard overnight. Walking distance from the Bus terminal and the shops.

Very large room for single or 2 persons, can probably fit a whole family. Keiko was super nice and helpful and had great suggestions for restaurants. There’s just a lot of attention to every detail overall. The toilets even had the highest quality toilet paper I’ve ever seen in Japan😀 The price in summer/off season was very fair. There is no AC but it should unusually not be needed. Even when it was 37 degree in Tokyo it was only 25 in Zao onsen.

Featuring a garden, Snowfall Meteor 飛雪流星 is located in Kaminoyama in the Yamagata region, 2.2 km from Zao Onsen Ski Resort. The guest house features family rooms. A lovely and heartwarming place to stay for a winter getaway. The couple that owns this business made us feel like family. Mao and Qu are so kind and welcoming. They treated us like family. They picked us up from the bus station, drove us to a wonderful dinner location (which they recommended), drove us to the ski resort, and helped with all our luggage. I was so happy to meet them and talk with them. The room is just as warm as the owners. The floors are heated and the beds are very comfortable. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Daichan Farm Guest House er staðsett í Asahi-machi á Yamagata-svæðinu, í 18 km fjarlægð frá Yamagata og státar af grilli. Hægt er að skíða upp að dyrum. The owner is welcoming and enthusiastic. The meals were home-cooked, and quite delightful. The owner helped us facilitate a side trip in the area, very kindly. It's a remote rural location, which has its own beauty.

Ohanabatake er staðsett í Tsuruoka, 17 km frá Kamo-sædýrasafninu og býður upp á gistingu með garði og ókeypis einkabílastæði. Very warm place, the host is a kind gentleman and really care about his guest. The room is big for solo traveller, although no air-conditioner but the room is cool and I can sleep well every night. There are no restaurants or shop nearby, yet I am bycycle traveller and there is a big supermarket 3km nearby only take 15mintues ride :)

Lodge Christmas Rose Zao er staðsett í Zao Onsen, í aðeins 1 km fjarlægð frá Zao Onsen-skíðadvalarstaðnum, og býður upp á gistirými með fjallaútsýni, ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði. Hospitality is incredible here. The facility is located up in the villiage, so it was quite difficult to get there by 2wd car in winter. But the owner provided us a parking below and drove us and other guests around the village wherever we needed to go: restaurants, onsen, ski rental shop, bus station etc. There is no shower in the facility, but we were provided onsen coupons so could use a free onsen nearby. Breakfast is simple but generous and packed neatly so we could eat it there or take out. Hosts take care of ski gear over night, so it’s clean and dry next morning. Rooms are warm with thick mattresses. The closest lift is in a few steps away, slope is also there, so can slide right to the entrance door. Overall, great for price, and hospitality is way above expectations!
