J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine.

This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. Everything was very clean and orderly. Beds were very comfortable and duvets very warm in colder November weather. Lovely common area and a nice shared kitchen with free evening rice and morning porridge. Access to private onsen which was a real treat! This was some of the best value for money I’ve seen - highly impressed! Completely exceeded my expectations.

It is situated 13 km from Fudarakusanji Temple and features luggage storage space. The guest house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Location was excellent. Shared kitchen, microwave, kettle etc so you can self-cater with food from supermarket (next door). Very comfortable rooms with Japanese style bedding - new build so everything clean and modern. Hostess is lovely and communicates through a language translation app.

The apartment was very convenient to many bus lines that run through Shingu. You can take the bus a few steps away from the apartment the main sights.

The property features mountain views and is 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and 31 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Ik was the most welcoming kind host I have come across in a long time. The room was warm and traditional. The food was delicious.

And if you wake up early like me and there’s no bus at that time, you still able walk to the Shingu station. The hostel has 4 bicycles to be borrowed with no charge. You can ride it around the city.

Has only 2 exclusive rooms on the 3rd floor. 2nd floor is the bathroom and toilet, open pantry and relax chill corner. Ground floor is a co-working space. Family mart is 7 min walk away and the fish auction market was also within short walking distance. Place was quiet after 5pm but staff had recommended a good sushi restaurant that I enjoyed.
