A blissful 6 days here. It's a beautiful Robinson Crusoe island. Mary's wonderful team have looked after everything for us. We swim, we walk, then a super breakfast served by Nyevu, who is always so kind and arranged everything so calmly and with a smile. Harrison is truly an artist, making wonderful displays every day on our bed of flowers and petals. The food delicious, with our choice of fish or chicken etc cooked in Swahili style. John guards by night and day. We loved the animals - donkeys wandering in from the beach, goats, chickens. We felt really a part of the island's life for a small time. Hope to be back soon!

Beautiful house with private pool, spacious bedrooms and several terraces to hang out on. Great location in old Lamu, close to shops, museums and the sea with great boat rides to wonderful beaches Manda and Shela.
I was about to not book this place because of mixed reviews, but I am very glad I did. We stayed for a week, it really exceeded our expectations! Caroline and her staff were amazing, the place was always thoroughly cleaned in the morning, same with the pool, and the food was surprisingly cheap and really really good. Same with breakfast, which was also varied; many hotels lack that. Our special requests were no problem and they have many nice, private spaces to relax. I absolutely recommend this place.
A remarkable property, full of history and character, and stylishly decorated. Our quiet room and private terrace at the back of the hotel overlooked charming rooftops, with dhows on the sea in the distance. The multiple pools, each set in its own secluded courtyard, are perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the island or the historic Old Town, and the waterside restaurant is totally delightful. Best of all, the team are so warm, welcoming and genuine - they really embody the spirit of Lamu and Kenya.
Beautiful boutique hotel with large spacious rooms done up in a gorgeous Swahili style and a massive common area, right in the heart of Lamu Old Town's narrow roads. Safari, Johnson and Abu are really great. Safari in particular went out of his way to help us make our stay amazing, such as finding us a dhow captain to organise a private dhow trip. I'd 100% recommend Andavelo House for your Lamu stay.
It is a beautiful place to stay; charming, comfortable, clean, excellent breakfast and staff, not a lot more you require on your holiday ;). Would definitely recommend. Of course a swimming pool would be nice, but not so very practical in its location.
One of the most beautiful buildings we stayed at in all of Kenya. Traditional Swahili and elegant and spacious. Beautiful common areas and private rooms as well. Great location.
We got the master bedroom with the little pool in the private court yard. Unfortunately the water didn't work.
If any place in the world deserves the attribute"boutique", then this gorgeous house. Nicely renovated and tastefully decorated and furnished. You just have to love it.
Near town center and the delicious (seafood) restaurants along the promenade.
Booking, communication and pickup were spot on.
