Lucky to find this one on arrival in Bar Harbor in peak leaf peeping season. If you like history, this place is for you. Two town houses beautifully converted into bed and breakfast accommodation with historic furniture and hiding away just behind the main street. Staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful, especially Marina (all the way from Serbia) and Walker. Breakfasts are cooked to order - very nice and original but not contemporary US breakfasts. Forget the brick, glass and concrete hotels and come and stay here. Highly recommended.

Located in Salem, 300 metres from Glendale Cove Beach, The Coach House provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. We had a wonderful stay at the Coach House! It is a beautiful historic building with contemporary stylish decor. The rooms are spotless, and the attention to detail is incredible. Marley was quick, attentive, upbeat, and professional. Any question or query she answered immediately. We would recommend the Coach House to anyone visiting Salem.

First and foremost I would like to say this was one of the best places I have ever stayed in all my years of travelling to various countries around the world. My mother and I were visiting from Ireland and unfortunately due to the train station being located at Wells, we required a taxi to and from the station. We were initially advised Uber would work in that area but it did not and we were told after this by the hotel that they were notoriously unreliable. We successfully managed to get to the property after calling a local taxi at the train station. We also ensured to arrange a taxi to take us back to the train station with plenty of notice. 30 minutes before the taxi was due to arrive, the hotel was called to let us know they would be a few minutes late only and not to worry as we would still make our train. 25 minutes later no sign and I spoke to the lady working there. When I asked if they gave an ETA as our train was booked back to Boston in less than 30 minutes, she was shocked and immediately sprung into action. She attempted to contact back the taxi company who now were not answering. She straight away got in touch with her general manager, Kristin, who had no hesitation to take us to the train station at Wells asap. We made the train with 2 minutes to spare and to be honest besides the helpful nature of the staff throughout our stay which I was going to highly commend, the actions of the staff and the lengths they went to to help us in our situation were amazing and I was so grateful for their kindness. Besides all this drama, we encountered various staff during our stay including the lovely Megan and Tasha. Both were super friendly and helpful during our stay. Breakfast was great each morning with fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola and a variety of breads. The offerings were very healthy and tasted great too. Also, the drink station was a nice touch and the evening salted cookies were wonderful. The hotel was very clean and tidy and in a beautiful location.

Set 1.1 km from East End Beach, 25 km from Funtown Splashtown USA and a few steps from Portland Observatory, Best Bower offers accommodation located in Portland. This place is amazing!!! I have already been telling everyone all about it. It was beautiful, clean, comfy, and peaceful. I will be back and will be sending many more guests their way!

Set in York, in a historic building, less than 1 km from York Harbor Beach, Albracca is a bed and breakfast with a garden and shared lounge. This place was our favourite of our 3 weeks travel. Large old house in the middle of a big park with charm and character preserved.3 huge common rooms downstairs to relax and have convivial breakfast with other guests.(top quality food)Beautiful furniture and wood on the walls.Plenty of space in the bedroom with a very large bed.High quality silence.Warm welcome from a young and new owner who gives a very good value for your money as she started very recently this business.
