On June is the best time of the year to see the stars and the Milky Way. The view is marvellous!! If you arrive by your own, ask for the guest house of Henry at the Inkatiana comunity because google maps does not work in the island. Also is good to know that the ferries to the island depart once a day at 7:30am from Puno's main port.

I wish I had stayed longer. The location is beautiful. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable with a fabulous view of the lake. The food was unbelievably good and you get to go out into the fields with the family to gather ingredients for your meals. They also organised a trip to the floating islands for me. It really has been a highlight of my trip. I cannot rate this place highly enough.

Oliver, Sebastiana and their children are a lovely family who you instantly feel at home with. The room we had was spacious, private and had a beautiful view of the lake. Hot water and WiFi worked amazingly for the area and the food provided (for an extra cost, but really good value), was very tasty and varied. There are a few walks to do in the area to keep you busy, and Oliver can also take you out on his boat to some of the local islands and to see the trout farm he runs (again, for an extra fee but for what you get, we thought it was really good value for money. You have to remember you have the boat completely to yourselves and there were no other tourists on the floating island we visited, making the experience very authentic). There's a really nice outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and view. Getting there is also very easy with collectivos going regularly from Puno and Juliaca for next to nothing. Nothing could have been better. Thank you Oliver, Sebastiana, Diana and little Adele.
