We were on a budget which is difficult in Hawaii but this property helped us sleep five comfortably. Very friendly staff at check in. Accommodations were modest but so is the price so that’s ok.

Wild Blue Water, hotel in Hilo

Featuring pool with a view and views of pool, Wild Blue Water is a recently renovated homestay located in Pahoa, 18 km from Lava Tree State Monument.

A beautiful location just a few dozen meters from the ocean. The sound of the waves was like "beautiful music" to us. Dogs roaming freely in the garden might be challenging for some guests. However, we love dogs, and the ones in the garden are VERY FRIENDLY.

    What an amazing property, just steps away from Carl Smith Beach!!! The property was clean and cool with a beautiful balcony that overlooked the beach. I was impressed that there were so many nice, considerate touches like: extra beach towels, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, sunburn gel, change and laundry pods, etc. The owner was wonderful!!!!! My family was soooo impressed! I will definitely come again and recommend this property to all my friends 🧡!!!

    Our room was a spacious and comfortable suite. We loved how close to the beach we were and that Steve and Su allowed us to use the pool and jacuzzi. We would stay here again.

    Diana was very helpful and hospitable. The location was excellent, close to shopping and restaurants, and only minutes from the beach and the historic part of Hilo. The room was very clean and well equipped and it was in a safe area.

    Friendly staff. Excellent food provided at restaurant at reasonable price. My wife left her bag at the restaurant. Staff called us later and returned the bag. A BIG THANKS! Our ocean front roon was great. It has a good bay view.

    We felt right at home at the B&B thanks to our wonderfull hosts Brian and Tomomi. They were super helpfull and good-spirited. Breakfast was great and delicious, with plant-based options as well. Beautifull view of the ocean! Perfectly nice room and bed as well. Beach towels, equipment and day snacks were a nice bonus too! Warm contact and communication with owners as well.

    - Good breakfast and on-site restaurant - Quiet (I read that birds could be noisy but it was OK for us, maybe we were lucky?) - Although the hotel starts to be old (or look old), it is in a good state - Big onsite parking - Nice view if you have a room with sea view (not our case) - Relatively spacious room terrace and comfy beds - Not too far from main tourist attractions (waterfalls and tropical gardens, surfer's beach, Mauna Kea and Volcano park, and others)

    Spacious room, comfortable bed, Free parking, beautiful ocean view, bridge to the coconut Island which gave tiny beach you can swim or dive from the man made platform at the end of the small island. Approx 30 mins drive to visit Volcano National Park.
