Such a handy location for exploring the Elan Valley. Also great places to eat within walking distance. Really enjoyed our stay in the Bear Den and couldn't fault anything.

Housed in a historic building, Cadwgan House offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi in Rhayader, 200 metres from Elan Valley. Great sized apartment. Handy to everything in Rhayader. Next door to laundrette. Lesley was very helpful.

Offering garden views, Flat 2 Frank Lewis House is an accommodation located in Hay-on-Wye, 14 km from Kinnersley Castle and 18 km from Longtown Castle. The flat was clean, very well equipped and had a comfortable bed. The kitchen had everything you would need for a stay there.

Offering a garden and garden view, Smithy Cottage is situated in Berriew, 35 km from Whittington Castle and 37 km from Shrewsbury Cathedral. The staff were amazing and looked after us so well. Smithy Cottage was very clean and comfortable, a lovely property.

The Pavement Palace is located in Hay-on-Wye, 18 km from Longtown Castle, 25 km from Brecon Cathedral, as well as 32 km from Hereford Cathedral. Location behind the clocktower was perfectly on the center of town. The unit itself was furnished beautifully in a restored historic building with exposed beams… Sitting by the wood-burning stove in the evenings was the perfect touch!

The apartment was clean, tidy and everything we needed to explore the Breacon area. It was close to town and cozy. The kitchen is a bit small but we made a whole meal there and had everything we needed to do so.

The Slow House Apartments, Llandefaale, a property with a garden, is set in Brecon, 10 km from Brecon Cathedral, 21 km from Clifford Castle, as well as 31 km from Kinnersley Castle. Host was very friendly and prompt at showing us around. Kitchen is well equipped, including milk, tea, coffee, and even some basic herbs and spices, and the place was so clean and smelled lovely! Would definitely stay again as it would be a great base to explore the local area, especially thanks to the tips booklet the host left out.
