In addition to comfy, clean and very affordable accommodations, she provided me with a full jug of drinking water, snacks upon checkin, multiple rides around town, help with a finger injury, and helped me book multiple excellent excursions. As a solo female traveler, it makes a huge impact with me to have a safe place to stay with an engaged and helpful host. My only suggestion is bring earplugs, as the room faces a road with traffic noise.

Although about a mile from the center/port, it's an easy walk (or $2 taxi ride). There's a nice restaurant (Los Moros) literally across the street (close enough to get the home wifi while sitting in the restaurant), and there's an even better restaurant (Pinchos del Gato Mera) a few blocks away.
