It was in a great location. Close to the main center of town but away enough to be able to sleep at night when the parties are going. Very lovely and responsive host and the accommodations were fantastic. The bed was comfortable and the hot water was such a nice thing to have. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked. Being able to make coffee in the morning first thing instead of needing to find a cafe was an incredible bonus. A great home away from home. We felt very comfortable and at peace.

First of all, I don’t remember ever giving a bad review before because I believe people can make mistakes unintentionally, and I don’t want to prevent them from earning money. But this situation is different. I bought my plane ticket and made the reservation 2-3 weeks in advance. However, the property owner sent me a message via WhatsApp one day before my check-in, informing me that they couldn’t accept me. The cancellation wasn’t done through Booking.com, and the reason is clear: their intention was bad. They wanted to list me as a 'no-show,' rent the room to someone else, and charge my credit card. And that’s exactly what happened. Booking.com, did I stay at this property? Isn’t this theft? I urge everyone to be careful when sharing your personal belongings and information with these people. If possible, find another place to stay so you can have peace of mind. Also, you won’t be left scrambling to find accommodation at the last minute, especially at night. I hope Booking.com finds a solution to deal with such property owners. Good luck!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Casa Mariposa. Lovely, modern, clean, self-contained with a well-stocked functioning kitchen. Felt like an AirBnB back home. Great location close to the surf, short 10min walk on the flat to Colorado's and 10mins to the shop in the other direction. Fully equipped for surfers with board storage area and outdoor shower. Eddie who lives there was so friendly and helpful - even gave us some of his homegrown bananas! Cannot recommend this place enough, one of our most enjoyable stays in Nicaragua
