My friend recommended going to APA hotels as he said they offer a decent baseline of comfort at a reasonable price. I've gone to three APA hotels (Yodoyabashi Kitahama Ekimae in Osaka, and in Tokyo, Asakusa and Shinjuku), and i can say all three exceeded my expectations and they are consistent in their presentation, comfort, location and amenities
Location was reasonable - about 15-20 minutes from the Asakusa Shrine and about 5 minutes to two train lines
While the room was small, the fittings were very presentable which added to the sense of comfort
Reception were always welcoming and helpful, particularly with filling out my baggage transfer
Also, the coin operated laundry machine and dryer was very convenient
In future, I'd definitely stay at APA hotels again

Location, cleanliness, friendly staff and breakfast.
Hotel is about 20 minutes walk from Osaka station, but of course there are few different ways to go there by subway or train. About 5 minutes away there is a street full of shops and restaurant. The room was a bit bigger than normally in APA hotel. Good breakfast in form of the buffet mostly with Japanese food. For me it was good choice.
good variety of breakfast. very close to station, easy for shinkansen day-trip and Haruka-train to airport. free luggage storage room. small room but enough space to open luggage on the floor and then push the luggage partly underneath the bed for more space. complete amenities like APA hotels chain.
Like other hotels in the APA chain, this is a clean and well equipped place. Self check in was a smooth process. The room is a little small, but if you're used to hotels in big Japanese cities then it's fine. The bed is comfy and the shower is good. It's convenient that there's a Lawson within the hotel. I was a bit worried that we'd have to wait ages for the elevators because there are so many floors, but it was all fine.
This is an interesting hotel, I believe previously part of the Hyatt chain but now under its own brand?
Spacious room for Japanese standard, great view to the Osaka bay, amazing decor in the lobby. Walking around the hotel feels like you are in a world of its own.
Great bus shuttle services into central Osaka and airport.
Very convenient. The staff is very helpful and hospitable. The room is little narrow but OK if it is considered as Japanese standard hotel rooms.I’ d strictly recommend APA hotel.
The beds were comfortable and the location was amazing, the staff were beautiful, friendly and very accommodating (as has been with all japanese customer service during our stay). I did start reading some of the paraphernalia left in the room by the owner of the chain and it came to my attention that the owner of the company is a far right lunatic and denyer of such atrocities such as the rape of Nanking and other assorted, documented and we'll witnessed war crimes. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Shame for his staff as they were amazing.
This wasn't a bad stay but I don't think we really enjoyed it. It is budget and what I imagine the APA hotel chains are like. Room was tiny. Bathroom smaller. Fan didn't work really well. The free dinner was nice but there is so much food around we only got it once. Location was great but I wouldn't stay here again and just pay a bit more for something a bit bigger. The room we had was quiet despite being opposite a lift. If it was a one night stay it would have been fine but we were here 4 nights.
Once you have stayed at an APA hotel, you have stayed at all of them. Meaning, you understand the concept of a small room, basic amenities and basically a place to sleep but not spend the day.
This APA hotel matches all of that, extra is the public Japanese bath and decent restaurant. It's also right outside of the Osaka Metro with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby.
Very convenient location. Rooms were smaller and similar to other APA hotels we stayed. We loved the breakfast spread. It had a variety of Japanese and Western dishes.
Great location located near Shin-Osaka Station, very convenient for travel to locations like Kyoto or for Shinkansen. Short walk to other lines for about 20-30 min ride to Namba/Osaka Station (for Den Den Town or Dottonbori) or to Nara. My 2nd APA hotel during my first trip to Japan, seems like a reliable hotel chain. There is a vending machine for milk right outside the onsen on the 2nd floor. The TV in the room also had casting and free VODs. There are also quite a few familymart convenience stores and other restaurants nearby.
