Get around in a rentable day cart or scooter if place is on mid/south side, and saves on overnight parking. Mallory Square sunset is low key in summer, and sunset is late, 7.30-8pm. Must do the Papa's Pilar Rum factory/store/tour for an afternoon sip. Eat early happy hour at the Boat House, do a sunset sail, or walk the whark deck over to the Pier House public pier for music, and eat more later at Sloppy Joes for a party- don't get any appetizers, only their sandwiches. Duval has many spots to hear live music, Rock at Durty Harry has decks full, Hog Heaven and Irish Kelly have good single performers. Carolines has great dinners, as well as Garbo's foodtruck for a lunch! Blue Heaven has the big meringue Lime pie, and breakfast garden, near the French Creperier, and Sunny Eggs is a small organic breakfast treasure must! Lately, I saw more late night small $5 tee shirt shops, and some construction/closed stores on Duval St. Party-on till midnight, and repeat.

Visiting this picturesque town again was fun. there is plenty of activities from snorkeling to sailing and the best fishing you can find. Everything is a bit more expensive, but there are also supermarkets and groceries for those of us who are on a limited budget.

Two to three days would be good. Had a trip planned to Dry Tortugas National Park that got canceled 18hrs before departure which put a crimp in the schedule. Found out later that at least 3 days were canceled.

August is stinking hot. But it gave us an excuse to visit shops and stop for refreshments. We walked everywhere. Loved the architecture and colonial feel of the island. Food was Excellent, surprised our favorite was a little place called Mangia Mangia for Italian. Such a friendly welcoming place.
