Addis er ikke en spesielt trivelig by. Det rives og bygges "overalt". Byen har ikke særlig mange severdigheter, selv om det er noen fine parker, særlig Unity-parken. Det trekker kraftig ned at man ikke kan ta med seg kamera inn i parkene.
