Story
Following the devastating attack on Yaresh, its people are left to pick up the pieces. The city lies in ruins, but its decimated defenders have more to deal with than just reconstruction. Jason's actions during the battle have brought unwelcome attention from allies and enemies alike. While the adventurers question his loyalty, the messengers question his very nature. Both have designs on Jason that he intends to thwart, but a danger comes to light that shifts everyone's agenda.

A little preachy
Reviewed: 26-12-23
Loved the narration but I felt like this book was a little too preachy. Nothing really happened untill only the very end of the book. Rest was Jason having deep philosophical conversations with almost everyone he met.

Reborn in the wild world of Amaranth, Maulkin finds himself in a hulking demi-human body with a sword of a size to match. Marked as an Eternal, a fledging immortal of boundless potential, Maulkin soon discovers he's been given a mission by the elder pantheon of this new realm.

Insufferably MC
Reviewed: 26-06-23
I am normally a fan of Luke Chmilenko, but I just could not finish this book. I just couldn't find a way to love the MC. He was likable at first, but with each chapter he just got stupider and stupider. And at one point I just found myself becoming irritated by everything he did. The jokes also were funny initially but again quickly became tiresome.

When programmer Jeff Lawing gets the opportunity to join Singularity Online, the world's first realistic VRMMO and the testing ground that will lead to the Singularity, he leaps to accept. Singularity is much more realistic and darker than Jeff had imagined, though.

Bad Narrator
Reviewed: 24-02-23
The story is a very decent one but the narrator is really bad. It was a struggle trying to ignore the narrator's monotonous voice and focus on the story instead. Book was almost ruined because of it.

Too much use of echo effect

Use of echo in the UI voice is too annoying. I almost stopped listening.
