I wish I never accidentally wasted a credit on this book. I found the original fish! book was ok, but didn't enjoy this one. especially the nutritional advice is so outdated and terrible.

Blaming meat for environmental issues is idiotic, have you stopped driving your car and taking vehicular transport, stopped using gas and other fossil fuels??? Because that's far far worse! regenerative farming can improve soil and microbiomes when manure goes back into the ground, if then your iss

I actually didn't mind the content about the Ketamine Assisted Pyschotherapy. But because it's such a sales book, mentioning the company they own hundreds of times throughout, it loses its integrity IN MY OPINION. That's just how I feel, someone else might feel differently, but in the current world when you spruik something as 'so great' I get suspicious and question how good the information is as it comes across bias because you have a conflict of interest to upsell your company and product.
KAP sounds like it could be really beneficial for a lot of people, I just would have preferred the book be more based in science and study results, with some anecdotal reporting mixed in.
Evidence the authors are opinionated and less in the science is when they mentioned eating meat is bad for you and grouped it with eating sugar and processed foods, like it's 2023 and you can do a bit of looking to see that meat is what we've eaten healthy for tens of thousands of years, is highly nutritious, and should not be blamed for the problems we see from sugars and processed food! Cars and industry are way worse for the environment yet the authors stated meat caused deforestation, like really, use your common sense. In maths it's called an error carried forward, it's just continuing the lies from biased vegan studies done where pizza and fast food (all highly processed) was called 'meat' and stupid stuff like that. I'm sick of hearing it and I'm calling out the stupidity of statements like these.
If they took the stupid meat comments out I would have given a higher rating, but because of the salesy approach the book has, I still couldn't give it a full 5 stars.

Best advice for food nutrition science

I really liked this book, Gary Taubes goes into every (and any) bit of relevant research on food science for over 100 years and meticulously outlines where and how, things have ended up the way they are today - fatter, sicker and lazier than ever before whilst people follow useless guidelines!
Because it is highly detailed it might put some people off as being a bit 'dry', but I love the detail, so I really enjoyed how thoroughly he went over things and explained them in a way I could follow and understand.
I have read a number of books on food nutrition science and I can say this is by far the most informative and best there is. If you don't 'get it' after reading this book, then I don't think you ever will!

Far too much plant-based bias for my liking. I was hoping to hear more about the scientific basis of acid in our body from foods but found Dr Daryl giving advice about his personal plant based preferences - A LOT. I'm not a carnivore, nor am I against eating plants, it's just wrong to advise people to do more of one or the other based on preferences. I reference him putting red meat and processed meat in the same sentence when talking about how meat gives you cancer (evidence is epidemiology studies isn't it??) I would agree that processed meats can increase the risk of cancer but unprocessed red meat has healthy fat in it and many essential vitamins and nutrients that are way more bioavailable than plants, it's one of the best foods on the planet when consumed with other healthy unprocessed fruits and vegetables, if he had done unbiased research for this book Dr Daryl should be suggesting to eat more unprocessed red meat. You can't blame red meat for what processed meat and complex processed carbohydrates have done when eaten with the red meat, that's not being scientific then.
I did find the information about all the various types of acid and how they Interact with our bodies fascinating and of value though, I took some knowledge from it, but not all of it is gospel due to his personal biases towards 'plant-based'.
if you disagree with me, yhats fine, just be sure to google 'Bear Grylls' as he also wrote a book and inferred his bias, and see where he stands now...

I really like this book, and Wim Hof is a legend by what I have seen on YouTube! it is informal enough to be relatable, yet formal enough to be understandable. I look forward to trying the method!

So many issues with the way it was presented... it had vegan bias disguised as neutral, could have gone way more into the actual facts of Carnivore and done some personal research not just believe what the vegan people said.

It had so much potential but missed the target by a long way... Everything was based on the methane gas 'fact', but it's unsustainable farming that is the problem!
