mixed feelings about these 4
Reviewed: 29-12-2024
I enjoyed the continuation of the plotline and book 4 was still, although in the atypical vein of alien romance, was a good story. the H and h were a good match. i loved how he slowly began to get a grip on his feelings and of course old characters still appearing was awesome.
as for book 5, apex was truly badass but the heroine, I just wanted to slap her...continually. the storyline was scattered with no flow. I kept asking myself what and why?
book 6 was really spaced out. different planet, and years equal a day. it was a clever way for the authors to bring about the end of the series. it had been a steady build of theme but needed to come to a a HEA conclusion.
it was an emotional ride when lunaria was finally revealed.
the heroine was innocent with a bit of grit that kept her ticking over for me. bur the H was revealed in a different tone. in all books he's been a womaniser a hellion and portrayed as easy go lucky.
in his own story he's more serious and switches pretty quickly from a promiscuous hero to a claim her she's mine attitude.
bit too quick and wishy. wasn't for me.
finally Ronin, he again was described as a fairly spiritual hero and book 6 is about his revelations and book 7 brings about the world to rights.
I enjoyed Sierra and Logan but
the change of make narrator wasn't as good. past characters were everpresent but they no longer had the same emotion provoking voice.
klornan is my favourite but his voice turns whiny.
it was irritating.
all in all a good series with good political intrigue and parallel life realities of the world today.
my preference was book 1 to 4, and 5 was good with an annoying heroine, 6 has history in the making to let you understand 7. so I guess if you're in, then listen to the lot.

Story
I’ve been swept off my feet before, and I’ve got the bruises to show just how badly that ended. I’m not about to fall at the feet of the next man - or alien - to cross my path. Especially not when he steals me away from home and wants to use me as his broodmare. Kloran is intense and sometimes scary. A prince of his people with a duty so deeply ingrained, it’s hard to see where it ends and he begins. But the glimpses of the man beneath the hardened warrior prince make me wonder if there’s something more between us.

the start of these stories was a great world building beginning to a somewhat lengthy series.
although the theme is atypical for alien romances, the start is nicely written with a romantic yet steamy introduction.
the underlying tone of dystopia earth being corrupt and nefarious, even going so far as to stretch to the utopian planet, was clever. it added some intrigue and suspense and. I for one, enjoyed seeing where it went.
there is sadness, cringe worthy, annoying and swooning emotions running through these books and some suprises as well.
enjoyed the narration, Sierra and Logan did great job.

Well, this was a little different. Normally the women have to warm up to the alpha alien, however, with this one the heroine was so excited. And totally enamoured. With the hero.
I so enjoy the way Regine weaves culture and acceptance through her plots.
There was no political underlying tones in this story but a simple tale of 2 cultures
getting to know each other with romance steam and trust. The addition off animals and past characters made this book all the more fun to listen to.
Daryl's Narration was marvellous as always. And I am so looking forward to the next story.

As far as Anna is concerned, for My Library. She is an automatic one click. However, I was confused with this story. I have listened to everything of hers. And loved them all, however, there were areas in this book that needed more depth and depth in places that I got lost in.
anna wove a more intricate plotline than i haven't experienced before and I felt myself getting bogged down.
there were a few themes in here that is not my type of listening and I was surprised when the story lead me there.
I definitely didn't see my favourite type of novel come to life between these pages.
as for the narrator, first time listening to him and I was not overly impressed. I felt he even detracted from the book.
his inflections were OK enough but his tone did not work for me at all.
this story was too involved for me and I couldn't maintain interest in the plot.

what a great story am so looking toward more in the Zulu series.
loved Kane's story and boy what a heroine. there is some sinister topics in here, but Julie has written it with a soft punch that, for me, didn't rip my heart out, it was just a good mix of action and suspense.
loved the previous characters coming in, especially with their heroines it just adds a bit of familiarity to the story, As if I was seeing how they were in days after their particular book.
great plotline with all the good feels as well as suspense.
some hot steam, romance and love.
Kai and Stephen are doing awesome work with narration in all the series so far. they just brought the characters to life.
and the front cover, the creekman! shut the front door.
the tattoos on the cover model. julie has described om Kane... among other things. great visual, just loved it

What a great story line. I so love Fiona Quinn when she gets into her Espionage and suspense and boy was this suspense. We saw this from the antagonists point of view most times as Reaper struggles with ptsd so I think he fiona had to write him in a slightly lighter format.
there was a lot of suspense as the antagonist was very clever and seemed to gave planned really well. all I can say, thank goodness for puzzler.
loved this story and I'm glad I knew about kate it made it easier to figure the story.
looking forward to next book. narrator did really well.

Now Deck can only hope a certain ER doctor will help him and his canine partner track down the source. Dr. Tori Sampson has her reasons for not trusting federal agents, especially ones working for the DEA. But the rash of overdoses—including a heartbreaking case involving a teen—is alarmingly high. I really enjoyed this story with a K9 in tow. there are twists, subtle clues and red herrings thrown in along the way and when i thought I hadvthe baddie figured, I find out I'm wrong.
Tee did such a clever job with this plotline, I adored Thor and his antics. it went a long way to allowing a chuckle inbetween the suspense and action. the H and h were stubborn to boot and fought their romantic notions which gave the push pull effect from start to finish.
the
I liked Vanessa's narration but with this book I really would like to have had dual narrator's.
good depth with plot and a good touch of romance and steam.

That’s how I ended up at a party hosted by the Fury Brothers. That’s how I ended up kissing Reath Fury. Six-feet something of dark, handsome, and gorgeous. When Reath finds out I’m the little sister of his best buddy from the military, he’s not happy. But then I get attacked in my lab. Someone is after my project. Did I mention I have top-secret military funding?

What a ride. this book reminds me of Anna's treasure hunter series. it's all systems go and action packed from the get go.
the antagonists refused to go away and then a little subplot sneaks in, just to give it a twist.
just adored Frankie, she was such a badass and pairing with Reath was a perfect ideal. I always get excited when past characters come out to develop storylines and on this one, all were out in force.
There was a lot of pace and suspense and action and the only thing that bettered that was hot hot hot steam. phoo whee. Anna outdone herself with these scenes.
just a great book all round. absolutely loved this whirlwind romance and action.
Sean Crisden, I've listened to before and he's always great, he did so well with his resonating voice for the Alphas.
C J Bloom. such a pleasure to hear her voice again, did a great job.
thanks Anna, Bo, can't wait for you.

The best thing I love about Susan's stories is thst women are strong. And kickbutt savvy. And in this book some of the make characters are made out to be arrogant and stupid. I laugh and fist pump at at patriarchal attitude. It's just so worth listening just to get the end and chant " a woman told you so"
There was a huge amount of action and so many subplots that just kept me listening. Absolutely adored having past characters make an appearance and creating a fantastic vibe in the plotline. And omg! Tex, awesome Tex.
Fiona and Cookie are one of my many favourites and it was a bonus for me to listen to them in the storyline.
It was so different to have the heroine prepared and ready which just let her be a badass and it was so good. And the scenes in the jungle, kudos to Wren
Susan took this story overseas as well as local which just added to the suspense. There were gutwrenching moments, horror induced parts, romantic times, steamy bits and just so fantastic.
It was brilliant.
Mackenzie and Teddy breathed life into the characters and were so awesome.
So looking forward to more
