Story
This is the whole story, right from the beginning: the sun-bleached streets, the grimy bars on the Sunset Strip, knowing Daisy’s moment was coming. Relive the euphoria of success and experience the terror that nothing will ever be as good again. Take the uppers so you can keep on believing, take the downers so you can sleep, eventually. Wonder who you are without the drugs or the music or the fans or the family that prop you up. Make decisions that will forever feel tough. Find beauty where you least expect it.

the story line was ok, i liked the different characters but i found it took a while to get going. the main character, daisy, was unbelievable Iif you've ever seen someone wasted on drugs, thin from drugs, unaware they are blue from cold from drugs you'll know that they aren't attractive, yet we are constantly told daisy was amazing - i can only decide this must be because she never wore a bra. not only is the drug addled description of her unappetising but she sounds so whiney and not at all confident. she sounds like a dog thats been whipped and still tries to find affection from its master. again not attractive and no amount of red hair, long legs, big lips, scantily clothed and bralessness can make you believe she's this amazing person.
having said that I enjoyed the other characters, the story was very different being read by a big cast.

Story
Late in the night, 14-year-old Sam Watson steps onto a quiet overpass, climbs over the rail and looks down at the road far below. At the other end of the same bridge, an old man, Vic, smokes his last cigarette. The two see each other across the void. A fateful connection is made, and an unlikely friendship blooms. Slowly, we learn what led Sam and Vic to the bridge that night. Bonded by their suffering, each privately commits to the impossible task of saving the other.

I struggled to finish this book, however, if you like the type of book with titles like "imprisoned under the stairs" etc. you will probably like this one. It was too depressing for me, the writing basic (everything was pretty, although the author was writing from the point of view of a young teen- so probably appropriate) and the narrator spoke very slowly with lots of pauses. I only kept going because its set in my home town. I thought the story picked up after the drag show and became more interesting.

longer than it needs to be
Reviewed: 27-04-2022
I thought it was an interesting story and I really enjoyed the historical and cultural aspects. however, everything is triple described and I feel that it made the book longer than it needed to be. the narration was variable, the main characters voice great but I didn't feel there was as much emotion in the male characters as the narrator put more effort into lowering her voice. if it had been shorter I would have given it 5 stars!

Story
Under the streets of London there's a world most people could never even dream of: a city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels, and pale girls in black velvet. Richard Mayhew is a young businessman who is about to find out more than he bargained for about this other London. A single act of kindness catapults him out of his safe and predictable life and into a world that is at once eerily familiar and yet utterly bizarre.

Story
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.
