Story
In November 2014, 13 members of the Biden family gathered on Nantucket for Thanksgiving, a tradition they had been celebrating for the past 40 years; it was the one constant in what had become a hectic, scrutinized, and overscheduled life. The Thanksgiving holiday was a much-needed respite, a time to connect, a time to reflect on what the year had brought, and what the future might hold. But this year felt different from all those that had come before.

Thank you so much for your insights, the history and most importantly, your service.
Sir Robert Menzies said, “We need lifters, not leaners.”
You have been a lifter.
The book is a great insight for readers wanting to better understand what has been a complex time for us. The story is told from an admittedly partisan position but with a wholesome and ethical focus. Recognition of treachery for it’s own sake is a gift.
Thank you Christopher Pyne, I look forward to your next story.

Story
Hugh van Cuylenburg was a primary school teacher volunteering in northern India when he had a life-changing realisation: despite the underprivileged community the children were from, they were remarkably positive. By contrast, back in Australia Hugh knew that all too many children struggled with depression, social anxieties and mental illness. His own little sister had been ravaged by anorexia nervosa. How was it that young people he knew at home, who had food, shelter, friends and a loving family, struggled with their mental health, while these kids seemed so contented and resilient?

Wake Up America

I listen to this and I struggle to understand how so much damage has been done to democracy’s shining light by one man.
Anonymous make a strong argument for the American people to oust DJT in November 2020 by electoral process and try to regain their republic, their self respect and their international credibility before it is too late. At the moment, the world regards the actions of Trump as the actions of Trump, but if the American people return him to The Whitehouse, the world will then judge the people who returned him more harshly than then man himself.
Thank you for the warning. Well told and well sourced.

A good story, well told.

Deidre’s reading, whilst very different to Laura’s own previous readings was quite clear.
The view are structured and reasoned. The historical comparisons are fair.
The reading of the Turnbull and Trump transcript, whilst it makes the point, is frightening in it’s content.
Looking forward to a true leader emerging sooner rather than later and praying for ScoMo in the meantime. Not sue we’re giving him a fair go due to his path to the lodge.
Thanks again Laura.
