It feels like a familiar story to me. To me its a mix between many space opera, such as Macros Frontier, Polity Universe and Battlestar Galactica.

I could not help but think of my favourite Heinlein story 'Friday' while I was listening to it. Throughout the story I found myself tense with anticipation of what was happening next even though you could reasonably predict the direction things were heading. I found it very enjoyable to switch off to.

The movie Starship Troopers meets Old Mans War, The Forever War and Independence Day, with a spot of the Polity universe thrown in for good measure. Well narrated and enjoyed listening to it.

I feel like it is 'just another story', that lacks luster. The characters are not really developed, there is no spunky wit and the concept of human consciousness in a machine could be broadened. Paul Heitsch does a great job narrating, but the story is missing the 'whats happening next' tension.

It leaves you with the questions if the authors ego is reflected in the magnificent skippy....seriously what made you think that ending a book in a series like this was a good idea? I feel like a chum being 'forced' to buy the next book, rather than having the option to see the how the story continues.

I agree with a previous review where it was suggested the story was in the same spirit as Adams and Pratchett. You can sometimes guess the plot, but when it happens you enjoy the little revaluations and the characters response to it.

Regular Omega Force readers will get their predictable fix. I found it entertaining, with some nice twists in the story and some concepts creeping in from other Dalzelle books.

These lectures should be mandatory for everyone. For me, it resolved some cognitive dissonance I experienced observing the world around me.
