Story
For as long as he can remember, Blake K. Healy has seen angels and demons. He sees them as clearly as he would see you if you were standing right in front of him. He sees angels dancing in worship services and whispering words of encouragement in people's ears. He also sees demons latching on to people and perpetuating addiction and bitterness in their hearts. The Veil chronicles how Blake matured in this gifting, while overcoming the fear and confusion of what he saw.

I was excited about the content but the author sounded too blazé and it distracted me from being able to take in what he was saying. I suggest getting a professional narrator as the content sounded good from what little I was able to listen to. I had to return the book.

Where is God when my suffering seems never-ending? Can I really find joy in this fallen world? This powerful book confronts these questions with stories of the author's near-death experience, a daughter's suicide attempt, mental illness, and numerous other gripping stories that demonstrate not only that God is present when we need him, but that through our trials we can find true intimacy with him.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK. I have listened to it at least 10 times if not more. So refreshing to have advice from someone who's actually been there and at times still struggles with keeping up with housework. I have always struggled with it my whole life and after taking in her concepts my my tidier and easier to keep tidy since raking on her decluttering advice.
excellent for anyone struggling with a messy home

Story
In Captive in Iran, Maryam and Marziyeh recount their 259 days in Evin. It’s an amazing story of unyielding faith - when denying God would have meant freedom. Of incredible support from strangers around the world who fought for the women’s release. And of bringing God’s light into one of the world’s darkest places - giving hope to those who had lost everything, and showing love to those in despair.

5 star story, 1 star narrator
Reviewed: 28-06-2017
The story is great. However, I couldn't get past the 5th chapter (although I tried several times) because I was so irritated by the narrator. She is narrating a woman from a Muslim background but has terrible pronunciation of Muslim and Iranian words (e.g. "muzzlim" for Muslim and "koo-rahn" for Quran.) I found myself focusing more on the narrator's flaws than the story. She overly emphasizes her words as though she is reading to children and her accent grated me (is she Canadian or near that area?) . The narrator would be better suited to read American children's books. I am refunding this audio edition because of the narrator.
I plan to buy the written version of the book however as the story was so intriguing, courageous and full of faith. I encourage you to also buy the written version.
