Story
Several months after his neighborhood was cloaked in darkness and invaded by the demon-like denizens of a hellish world, life has returned to normal for Miah Gray, a.k.a. Laser Chicken. No longer burdened by PTSD, he is free to enjoy his family and to help pick up the pieces of a pillaged world. At night, he trains with his eight-year-old companion, Bree, a.k.a. Demon Dog, and their neighbors Henry and Sarah, the god-like descendants of Helen of Sparta and the mythological Zeus. All is calm...until new neighbors move in across the street and shatter the peace.

Loving the infinite series!
Reviewed: 12-01-2023
Keep finding out there are more and more books I need to read in this series!! And I’m not mad about that at all! This book and the dark were my first step into this series. And I’m all in! I’m off to catch up on all the other books before the final comes out in a couple of months! Please give this series a try. You won’t be disappointed. Amazing narration as always by R.C, loved the little extra audio bits of miss read parts at the end. Keep that up!

another great chapter
Reviewed: 17-08-2020
I enjoyed this chapter the most so far mostly because of Cole (not sure if the spelling is right. Gus was one of my least favourite characters in this book. seemed really ungrateful after being saved.. multiple times. I guess I just prefer the more badass type characters like the awesome Cole. The ending definitely jerked at the heartstrings a bit, but in a good way.

An ancient evil awakens ... Alex Hunter has been found – sullen, alone, leaving a path of destruction as he wanders across America. Only the foolish get in the way of the drifter wandering the streets late at night. Across the world, something has been released by a treasure hunter in a hidden chamber of the Basilica Cisterns in Istanbul. Something hidden there by Emperor Constantine himself, and deemed by him too horrifying and dangerous to ever be set free.

Didn't like the ending of this one
Reviewed: 23-04-2020
Not seeing any real growth from each book. always the same kind of fights and outcomes. Would really like to see some evolution of the Arcadian. His fight with the Russian at the end was outstaying it's welcome.. just kill that f**king guy already! then there was no real fight with the Gorgon. I enjoyed the book for the most part. But after all these books I'm left wanting something more. New monsters are good... But the main draw of these books is Alex.. Give him more to do! and less time getting his was kicked! Don't be afraid to just let him be a force of nature and kick some ass 👍

Another great Alex Hunter story

Love the reading and story. My only small negative is that Alex Hunters power's and abilities haven't been expanded upon since the last few books. It sounded like his speed had improved in the final battle of the last book.. but never really verified or expanded on .. yet.
I'm off to start the next adventure!

Sean Mangan is a wonderful Narrator! and Greig Beck delivers an amazing story with some really likable characters. The creatures weren't what I imagined.. they were far better.
Looking forward to the rest of the Alex Hunter series.

It was amazing to have the voice actor read the book about her character Ashoka! She did a great job portraying the different characters and I absolutely love how it adds in the sound effects and music from Star wars. Will defiantly be checking out more books in the series. Hope they write another book for Ashoka. Still so much to tell from the end of this book till her appearance in the resistance tv show.

"Monsters" said Vince Martinelli. "There are monsters on the rig, Dave." Dave Hooper has the hangover from hell, a demonic ex-wife and the claws of the tax office sinking into him. So the last thing he needs is an explosion at the off-shore oil rig where he works. But this is no ordinary industrial accident, and despite the news reports, Dave knows that terrorists aren't to blame for the disaster. He knows because he has killed one of the things responsible.

First let me start off with my only 2 negatives with this book. 1 the long and overly exaggerate parts involving the monsters, their names and the way the see things. 2 Dave not exploring his new powers and using them more effectively. It was a fun book and I recommend it. Just those two things got a little annoying for me personally at times in the book. the narration was great, I'm used to his style from the Steve Alten Meg book series.

Stephen King says he wanted to know what happened to Danny Torrance, the boy at the heart of The Shining, after his terrible experience in the Overlook Hotel. The instantly riveting Doctor Sleep picks up the story of the now middle-aged Dan, working at a hospice in rural New Hampshire, and the very special 12-year old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals.

Beautiful sad and moving follow up to The Shining
Reviewed: 31-05-2019
This book was read with such care and skill. I just want to get more books read by him. The story was really touching and I caught myself smiling at times and almost crying at others. The reader did an amazing job of giving each character their own voice. I was sad to reach the end. The story wrapped up well but I still wanted more. But that is always the way with a good book.
