About this listen

Stepsiblings in search of the truth about their mother’s succession of beloved husbands - and their own surprising identities as eligible young nobles - are the endearing stars of this dazzling series from New York Times best-selling author Sabrina Jeffries....

A past kiss with adorably bookish Miss Olivia Norley should be barely a memory for Marlowe Drake, the duke of Thornstock. After all, there are countless debutantes for a handsome rakehell to charm beyond a young lady whose singular passion is chemistry - of the laboratory type. But Thorn has not forgotten - or forgiven - the shocking blackmail scheme sparked by that single kiss, or the damage caused to both their names. Now, Thorn’s half brother, Grey, has hired the brilliant Miss Norley for her scientific expertise in solving a troubling family mystery. And the once-burned Thorn, suspicious of her true motives, vows to follow her every move....

For Olivia, determining whether arsenic poisoning killed Grey’s father is the pioneering experiment that could make her career - and Thorn’s constant presence is merely a distraction. But someone has explosive plans to derail her search. Soon the most unexpected discovery is the caring nature of the reputed scoundrel beside her - and the electricity it ignites between them....

great story, entertaining characters

I really enjoyed this book. The story was well-developed and the characters were interesting and relatable which made for an entertaining dialogue. At times, the dialogue was a bit immature...toward the end oddly. This book will be a repeat listen for me.

One Of My Favorites!

When chemistry takes root, can these two put out their fires, or will they succumb to the brightly burning passions within? Delightfully delicious with humor and wit, this is unputdownable glee! This was entertaining with some heat and some very heart touching moments.

What's not to like about a reformed rake? Even one who's been denied and has a vain streak about the entire affair. Both Thorn and Olivia are extremely likable making this a must read book. If second chance romances are your thing, this is sure to thrill and entice you. The cover is absolutely adorable as well.

Sabrina Jeffries is one of my favorites! The way she stages the scene and let's the characters come out and play is always exciting.

Wishing an End

As much as I am enjoying this series, I don’t like having to go to book four to catch the killer. Thinking of Arsenic myself!!

Dreary Duke

The hero was so self centered, controlling, and inconsiderate that I’m sorry the misguided heroine ends up marrying him. I’m no prude but I found his manipulative seduction of her to be very creepy.
Sorry I spent a credit.

Boring

I found this HR boring. This was a slow burn romance. I had to fast forward to finish this audiobook.

STOP! the story is incomplete!

The mystery doesn’t get solved until the end of the series which is 4 or 5 books. Not in the description of the book which is very annoying!! Most series have similar family members but each book is a stand alone story. This really ruined it for me!
