About this listen

Ramayana must rank as one of the most loved and revered books of all time. A part of India's ancient Vedas, it is a beautiful story of romance and adventure. It recounts the history of Rama, said be an incarnation of the Godhead, and his divine consort Sita.

Filled with magic and mysticism, it entrances the listener and stirs deeply moving emotions. At the same time its profound spiritual messages leave one feeling uplifted and enriched. This is a novelization of the classic. It contains all the essential narrative of the original Sanskrit poem, but written in a contemporary style.

Whilst adhering closely to the original, I have used the techniques of character development and dramatization to draw the listener into the action. By weaving in other spiritual commentaries on this sacred text, I have also tried to offer the listener the benefit of the wisdom of India's seers and sages.

As I am sure you will discover when your listen to the book, that wisdom is as relevant in today's stressful world as it was thousands of years ago, when it was first written. It was my love for this wonderful book which prompted me to write my adaptation, and I hope I have been able to share that love with others.

Alright

My Review- Alright

I've always wanted to get into this form of mythology, focusing on Hindu mythology. This book focuses on a few prominent characters within tales similar to the ones you'd hear in Greek or Norse mythology. The fantastical adventures that occur are interesting and paints pictures of grief, loyalty, duty, love and might! There was a movie that recently released that showcases this in live action form to further tell the tale, called Adipurush. I thoroughly enjoyed the epics I had difficulty listening to the narrator, he lacked enthusiastic portryal that I'm used to in other books. This narrator reads everything in the same monotone delivery. This is a viable entry in mythology, but perhaps there's a better version worth listening too.

A Good Telling

The simple reading seemed appropriate for the tale, as it gave it the feeling like someone was truly sharing the story orally. No music distracted from the telling; only vocal inflection changed the mood. The tale itself proceeds like a Dragon Ball Z episode: spots of humor, lots of emotional dramatics. supremely powerful gods and monkeys, and half of battles are really long power charges. Most importantly, it is an amusing and wise tale that has a large impact on Hindu culture. It is definitely worth a listen.

Truly an amazing piece of exquisite literature with a foundation of virtue and honor which seems to have been lost in generations of turmoil and darkness.

Incredible story

Full of action, heroism, & a comprehensive look at moralities and life in Ancient times, the Ramayana is a riveting story you will not want to stop listening to.

Regardless of a few typos, and microphone movements, this story will have your mind whirring as you witness the epic saga of Ram in your mind.

Victory to Ram!!!
